For probably the second time in our looong relationship Jeremy was able to truly surprise me...and it was tickets to Hamilton! I was speechless and it was so awesome! And on top of that we had an amazing dinner at Zahav where I only made it to the hummus course before I got too caught up in the food and didn’t take anymore pictures. To loosely quote @jentranphilly, we pulled off almost two impossible feats in one evening, Zahav and Hamilton. #bestnightever#besthusbandever#surprise#anniversary#zahav#hamilton @hamiltonmusical @zahavrestaurant
Had an amazing opportunity to represent Samuels in an episode of a food show called “The Food Ambassadors,” hosted by renowned Israeli Chef Barak Yehezkeli. These guys really captured Philly, it’s rich culture and food scene, while telling Chef Michael Solomonov’s amazing story. If your not familiar with it, you’ll be moved. I’ve had the opportunity over the years to get to know Michael. His passion for food and culture is infectious. I’ve learned so much about Israeli cuisine, it’s rooted history, use of fresh local ingredients and flavorful dishes, it has become a favorite. You, like many others, may not have yet been turned onto Israeli food. This show may change that. And just wait until you have “real” hummus for the first time!! Michael is truly a great chef but equally as amazing a human. Foodie or not, watch this and you’ll most likely agree. 🔗Link in Bio. The show’s in English. https://youtu.be/EH-WpezAOTg #food#phillyfood#philadelphia#foodie#foodies#foodstagram#internationalcuisine#israeli#israel#israelifood#samuelsseafood#hummus#seafood#fishlife#cheflife#chef#jamesbeard#zahav#nycfood#changingthewayyouseafood
When I found out I was staying across the street from the Best Restaurant in the Country according to the 2019 James Beard Awards, I knew I had to try and get a seat. Luckily, @ZahavRestaurant holds 22 seats at the bar and chef’s table each day for walk-ins, and I was able to get into the first seating. I just wish I had been able to take better pictures of the food since it was so beautiful and yummy. This peach carpaccio with Castelvetrano olives and peach labneh was the best shot I got, but it gives you an idea of the care they put into each dish. I highly recommend ordering the tayim (tasting menu) which comes with salatim (6 daily veggie salads), a choice of 3 hummuses, fresh laffa bread, 2 mezzes, 1 grilled entree, and dessert, all for less than $50! It’s a lot of food, but my server recommended not finishing the first course and getting it to go, which I’m so glad I did because I probably wouldn’t have had enough room to finish the malabi custard which would have been a crime!
I have been a @zahavrestaurant stan for manyyyy years now so it only seemed right that I celebrate my 30th birthday here. Everything from the food, to the service, to the decor was phenomenal but what I think I love most is that they haven't really changed THAT much since the first time I went. Yet they still have things that surprise me and challenge my taste buds (looking at you branzino) This was 100% the icing on the cake and cherry on top of an amazing birthday weekend. #foodie#phillyrestaurants#zahav#foodiemob#philadelphia#philly#foodlife#foodinfluencer#browngirlbloggers#anothankyoutaste
