#tbt to my creative retreat on @saintsimonsisland a few weeks ago. Every morning I would walk the beach and take in the ocean vibes. It helped to ground me before working everyday. . . What kinds of activities do you do to help ground yourself before you start creating?
For writers, whether you’re just starting out or on your tenth novel, finding the time and the headspace to write are the absolute toughest things to master. Sometimes, you have a free hour but you’re not in the mood. Other times, you’re in the mood but don’t have the time! So the trick is to start fooling your brain into getting creative, even if you’re not really feeling the right vibes. Personally, I am addicted to @brainfmapp (they are not in any way sponsoring this post, I just literally do love them). As soon as I plug in, the words start flowing. But I’ve also heard of writers who try smells, colour, pictures... all kinds of things to signal ‘now we are writing’ to their author-y minds. And if all that fails, you could always pop along to a one-day writing retreat and let the creativity of your fellow writers spur you on! #writersretreat#suffolkwriters#burystedmundswriter#writingretreat @carathurlbourn
This week I relaunched my business and my brand - now fully owning my name, Macushla Collins, while standing up straight with my shoulders back. To read the full story, click on the link in my bio. ⠀ My soul mission is to build a community of conscious content creators and to inspire businesses, writers, and non-writers alike to think and feel more consciously about the content they create and how they interact in the world. ⠀ Perhaps you’re ready to finally write that book that’s been stuck in your head forever. Perhaps you’re ready to connect with your audience or customers in a more authentic and enriching way. Perhaps you’re ready to step off the content conveyor belt. ⠀ Whatever is nudging you to create and communicate more consciously, I look forward to you joining me each week as I share how you can produce written, audio, and visual content that is created with deliberate intent, care, and awareness. ⠀ Sincerely, Macushla Collins
