Head in the clouds? More like I am the clouds. ✧ ✧ ✧ @yin.yang.yam is a passion project dedicated to self-discovery, growth, and freedom. Women and a few men have inspired me everywhere, and I want to make art that translates just that. I hope I can talk more about this project in the future because deeper sentiments are definitely involved. But for now, here's a piece I did last night. ~ As I let the creative juices flow, I felt I am at the peak of this chapter. It's so exciting! I've questioned so many things the past couple of years--why I'm here, what's the purpose, why people are the way they are--and I think it's time for a resolution. I've gone through the introduction, I've sailed the tides, I've met beautiful beings amidst the chaos. And that's the victory--not the trophy, not the name or title, but the people you meet. The ones who have the wit and who are capable of authenticity and self-criticism (and a bit of dark humor lmao) are the gems that I will be keeping along with the ones I've treasured for so long now. But the main victory is this moment right now--the conscious awareness gained as an individual. ❣ To the people who remain trapped and undermined, I sincerely hope for your freedom someday. ~ Thank you for this chapter, You.
Hope everyone has an amazing weekend full of laughter and happiness surrounded by people you love and care for! As I am taking the time to find inspiration for my book I will be reading few non-fiction novels and Autobiographies, the second book is this one by Rosie Batty, prominent and pioneer against domestic violence, bringing the root causes forward and making our politicians accountable for the laws and policies that have failed so many women and children. She is responsible for some of the best run campaigns and for reforming laws around domestic violence. Whilst the story demonstrates immense kindness and compassion on Rosie Batty’s part I still failed to relate to why she went back to him after their separation at the beginning because she knew a key unlawful and heinous act he had tried to do to a friend of hers. As domestic violence survivor myself and whilst every situation is soo different and whilst we, women should be allowed to live freely, in a world where patriarchy has ruled for so long, we do have to protect ourself and fight for our freedom! I admire the bravery and courage Rosie Batty has shown and hope she has created for greater society and hope to be half as brave if I ever get the spotlight to make change!!! #nomoredomesticviolence#notogenderbasedviolence#womenareequal#wematter#womenwholiftwomen#womenrock#womenempowerment#womenhelpingwomen#womens#freedom#womensrights#srilanka#srilankanwomen
