When we were checking her out, everything was everywhere! The kitchen counter was pulled out and against the dinette. Piles of things. We couldn’t really see the bathroom with all the cushions stuffed in! TIP: if the vintage camper smells anything other than a) good or b) slightly moldy...walk away! Fortunately there were no dead animal smells (and very little mouse poop!). We took that as a good sign. The seller had intentions of restoring her to her 70s glory. Sorry (not sorry) but avocado green counter’s not my jam! (Do you want it? Let’s talk!) . . . #airstreamrestoration#airstream#airstreamrenovation#1975overlander#airstreamdreams
We have new renters moving into our house in Indiana in a few weeks. Couldn’t be more thankful for the people we had in the house for over 2 years who were the most amazing tenants EVER! And even though they kept the house in mint condition, there are always things that need touched up. My family has stepped up to show the house to new renters, let in drywall repair guys, replace all the smoke detectors, arrange a plumber, and pressure wash the house. I could go on and on. Im so thankful for the support from a far. It was far more work than I realize it would be from a distance and we could not have done it without them. ❤️
If you don’t know me IRL I’ll take a second to introduce myself (as if the shirt doesn’t say it all already). I’d really like to network with other tiny house inhabitants and see what your inspiration behind going tiny is. When the movement started I always thought about how cool it would be to be able to have a self sustaining house off in the middle of the woods. I lived in a tiny 500 sq foot apartment in NYC, came back to New England and lived in a 1400 sq foot loft. Trying to fill all that space was so not me. There was so much emptiness. I rescued a senior dog named Shadow from death row and she lived with me in that empty loft. I told her one day we’d have our own tiny house on lots of land and I was going to open a senior dog sanctuary where she’d have lots of furry friends to run about with. Unfortunately, she passed away unexpectedly but I had to keep my promise to her. Since then I’ve rescued three other seniors who have all lived in this house with me (extremely comfortably). Money was also a big factor because I couldn’t afford to live in Boston (near school) by myself and I also didn’t want a random craigslist roommate around my dogs who have come from tough places and were learning to trust me as I was learning to love them and show them I would never leave their side. There’s still a lot of work to be done but we’re getting there! Why did you decide to go tiny? What pros and cons have you found during your journey? . . . . . . . . . . . . #tinyhouse#tinyhome#tinyhousemovement#tinyliving#homeiswhereyouparkit#tinyhomes#tinyhouselife#tinyhouseliving#tinyhousenation#architecture#travel#tinyhouses#tinyhouseonwheels#tinyhousedesign#cabinlife#diy#tinyhousebuild#interiordesign#minimalism#camping#tinyhouselove#design#nostalgia#vintage#newengland#alternativeliving#retro#midcenturymodern#gotiny
*sorry for the repost! Had to adjust a bit* Sam and I took advantage of the beautiful weather this past weekend to finish up a cute DIY sign project for our October festivities 🎉 One of our long-term goals and one of many reasons that we decided to go tiny is to have more days like this! We both work normal 40-hour work weeks right now but hope to achieve a bit more financial freedom in the future. We are still figuring out the logistics, but plans are in the works and we’re both looking forward to more time together, doing the things we love!

$11.75 💰 That’s what our electric bill was from July 12th to September 3rd. That’s it. 💰 We didn’t have a meter at the last place we rented, we just chipped in $20 a month or so to go towards the electric bill that was shared by us and the other tenant. So it’s been fun getting to see first hand how much energy we save by living this way! 💰 I’m really stoked to see how much our energy consumption will change in the winter. Obviously it will go up, but since the only thing I have to compare it to was our old foundation home, I’m sure it won’t seem like much at all! 💰 Reason 8,603 I like living in a tiny house: my electric bill is less than buying two coffees from Starbucks.
