Creating drills and learning tools for athletes is essential to building a balanced athlete. 🧐 • As a coach knowing the drills is one thing but being able to package them in a way in which their purpose and value can be understood is another entirely. 🙌🏼 • A coach should be adaptable and know which cues will serve the athlete the best. 👍🏼 • Running coach @jamiemilnetraining taking URX Training Camp Athletes through a variety of drills to better understand the fundamentals of the SKILL of running. 🏃🏼♂️ • 📷 @daviewarren_photofitt • #trainsmartfighteasy#undergroundknowledge
Client Kate smashing out a smooth and controlled 65kg for 4 reps on the block pulls before absolutely killing it with a set of 10 hip thrusts at 60kg. . As little as six weeks ago, she was scared to hip thrust 30kg and didn’t trust deadlifting as both had previously caused her lower back pain. Since then we’ve scaled it right back, progressing by 2.5-5kg a week and focussing on refining technique on both lifts. . She’s now lifting heavier than her body weight on both with absolute e a s e. Sometimes we have to take a few steps backwards to leap forwards and that is okay.
3.5 weeks out #nofilter @wbff_aust . I have good days and I have bad days like today. I have days where I'm happy with how I look and others where I feel like I look worse and I'm going backwards. The reason prepping for a bodybuilding competition is so hard is the mental battles and the self doubt. You're mind plays games with you, disheartens you at times where you feel like giving up, and then others where you feel so damn good you can't wait to step on stage. I think the most important thing to do is reflect instead of react. Being reactive to thoughts and emotions just fuels them, try to sit with them, reflect on them and then let them pass. Focus on something positive and just be present and see how your mind and therefore your mood changes ❤ . #wbffaus19#preplife#takecareofyourmind#lovelife#loveyourself#appreciatethejourney#yolo#girlswithmuscle#girlswholift#strong#instafit#gains#swole#humpday#booty
We cannot care for others if we don’t care for ourselves. Learning this lesson has always been hard for me. I always want to make sure everyone around me is okay, happy, thriving. Often I forget to do that for myself. This week has been that lesson for me. It’s okay to be selfish in caring for myself. If I can better myself I can effectively help others.
