The 20-40 yard pitch from a bunker is one of the hardest shots in golf. Here are a few tips to help you out: . 👉 Use a lower lofted club. If you use a sand or lob wedge for green side bunkers, try your gap or pitching wedge, or even a short iron. . 👉 Open up your stance slightly and open up the clubface so that it aims towards your target. This will add some loft and some bounce to the bottom of the club - helping it bounce out of the sand. . 👉 Try to hit around an inch behind the ball. Trying to pick the ball clean is tough, but if you take too much sand, you’ll be way short. Aim to enter the sand around an inch behind the ball. . 👉 Follow-through. This is the most important tip. You need to take around a full swing and follow-through. This will help you get on the green more often and get down in fewer strokes.
The @worldlongdrive World Championship is less than 1 week away. My swing feels slow, my body feels tight, and I’ve got some residual ankle/knee pain from the @lululemon half-marathon. I’m gonna show up and give it my best, with a focus on having the most fun. All that said, this swing felt nice this morning😊 Reminder to self: wherever you are, show up with whatever you’ve got in the tank and leave it all out there. P.S. after the season concludes, I’m looking forward to getting back with the @jones_sports_co team and catching up with a lot of other friends I’ve missed playing golf with in recent months!
