#newzealand Day 2... Do you want to conquer some rails? I get asked almost daily about side approach/urban on rails. SAVE this video and watch for all the small details. Also, tag a friend that may need this sweet info! Thanks @roya_behbakht for dat filming - - Before attempting this frontside 50-50 make sure you have experience riding boxes, know how to pop and can carve. - - 1) Find a rail or a box that you feel confident hitting. If you are too scared, putting your body in the right position will be 10x harder than it needs to be. - - 2) Enter the feature with your front side facing the rail and take about a 15-20 trajectory towards the rail. You need to do this because most times you don't have the option to go straight onto the rail. - - 3) Notice that I'm hitting the side of the rail just slightly. By hitting the rail on the side, it will deflect your body and energy down the rail. If you land perfectly on top of the rail, it's super easy to slide off. This is where most people struggle. Understand this is a fine motor skill and will take some time to perfect. - - BONUS- Land on the rail gently like your landing on eggshells, this will help you stay in control. If you slam into the rail, you may bounce off, or the abrupt movement may spook you. - - 4) Once you are on the rail, keep your board, hips, shoulders, and eyes pointed at the end of the rail. It's also essential to keep your center of mass/ belly button directly on top of the rail. If you fall off the rail its because your shoulders are not pointed in the right place. The second reason would be because you're not stacked directly over the rail and leaning off the rail. - - 5) Ride through the end of the rail and stomp this trick. You're one step closer to being a #snowboardboss - - #snowboarding#snowboarders#snowboard#mounthood#riding#burton#snowboardtricks#snowboardlife#snowboardrail#railriding#5050
