While training to run a 100 miler - you have to remember to stop and smell the flowers 🙃🌸! Sometimes I forget that the biggest part of the experience IS the training. In some ways the training is the hardest and most humbling part - BUT in other ways the training is the most rewarding, satisfying, and IGNITING part 🔥. I finished last week at 93 miles with two full rest days 🙃 I put in 80 miles in four days. It was a GRIND! But that’s what a 100 miler is - a grind. It’s about prepping the mind and body to grind with a smile😁. Almost done editing. Tomorrow I'm releasing the music video for my song "Life" which is something that everyone can relate to. The music video itself is probably one of my best yet as it not only has a very cinematic storyline that's told through a short film, but it's also my most creative story told. The 2nd verse had a split screen with 2 parallel stories being told at the exact same time that are led by different mindsets, resulting in a different outcome. You'll have to watch this video several times in order to see the details and subtle behavior differences that lead to the why each story has their own ending. It's a song and video that's all about how our perception and perspective is what creates our reality and future. The video was directed and written by me. Cinematography by @amauri90. Not gonna lie. I’ve been STRUGGLING. Struggling to get my miles in for the past few weeks, and struggling with nutrition. There have been a few bad runs, weeks where I’ve gone up in weight and body fat % and I get really down and beat myself up and feel like crap. But then I go back and I look at all the progress I’ve made and I start smiling. From January until now I’ve gone from 11:30/mile to 8:30-9/mile, I ran the Hapalua 1/2 Marathon in April, down nearly 30 pounds and I’m the healthiest I’ve ever been and in the best shape of my life! I guess the point I’m trying to make is that if you’re struggling while working towards your goal(s), feeling down or just want to give up, JUST KEEP GOING! Give yourself credit for the progress you’re making, understand that everyday might not be the best day, but you’re still doing it!
