⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ BALANCE⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’ll say this a million times over. Finding balance with your nutrition is hard. It took me years!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I often have long days at work. I attend  happy hours and networking events. I’m sure I’ll travel for work at some point in future. All of these things make eating balanced and healthy a bit more difficult!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I had a similar job a few years ago and I had a lot of trouble finding balance. I’ll admit that I was definitely working and traveling more which meant I was more stressed than my current job. However, I know for sure if I could go back in time with the knowledge I have now, I’d be able to do a much better job at living a balanced, healthier lifestyle.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Over the past two years, I’ve significantly improved my relationship with food. I no longer stress about what I’m eating. I don’t worry about having treats or alcohol. I don’t  think about calories or macros. I don’t count containers.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I learned a few, easy to follow pieces of guidance that have changed my mindset. Before I completed the nutrition program, I thought that there was no way an “eating plan” could teach me anything basic about nutrition that I didn’t already know. I was incredibly wrong! Yes, I did relearn the basics, but I also learned a completely new way to think about eating.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Do you want to eat healthier but don’t want to feel restricted or overwhelmed? Food prep is such an important key to staying on track with nutrition during the busy work week. When healthy options are at my fingertips I don't feel tempted to take the easy way out and grab processed  foods high in carbs, sugars, and sodium.  It doesn't have to be complicated or take hours slaving in the kitchen. Personally, I like to prep some salads for lunches, veggies to have with hummus for snacks, and HB eggs for an easy protein. This week I decided to be extra and do some yummy muffins for my boys. Pumpkin espresso for Peter, and pumpkin oat for my Reemy Pup 🐾. I have all my ingredients ready to go for dinners but I don't usually make them in advance. This week I plan to pull out the Crock-Pot for some low maintenance meals. This is how we banana. We eat them everyday in our smoothies, as a snack, included as a meal...Just treating them like the food they are. I have learned that we have been trained to think fruit isn't a meal. And it really is when you treat it like one. We eat intuitively, no guideline is followed, no diet restrictions...Just intuitively listening to our bodies & reading the energies of our food. Trying this new flavor from @garliclimechili808 . It is definitely more on the acidic side with the extra pineapple. But doesn't disappoint with the spice and the garlic. It gives more of a refreshing tropical flavor to my food for sure. I can see it pairing nicely with seafood. High fructose corn syrup is a no-no in my diet and I try to keep it out of my son’s as well. I teach my clients to read labels and stay away. Read the attached article. NEW WEBER🤗🤗🤗 My old 26" black kettle weber charcoal grill that's over 32 years old had to be replaced.  The legs broke on it completely away from the base so i couldn't fix it and i want to be able to change its location so a new one.  I'm putting together now and have copper this time and the new one has thermometer AND an enclosed pan to catch all the ashes.  I LOVE my charcoal weber ... only way a true griller grills... charcoal.  Since my new baby will probably get a cover doe it.  Never had one for the other but still great.  I'm going to use the old lid and bowl in my garden to house probably peppermint and lavender to deter the deer from my garden supposedly.  Veggies and mushroom burgers taste great on the grill. {NEW} Broccoli + Mushroom Beef Stir-fry 🥦🥩😋 Recipe by @cleanfoodcrush . Raise your hand if you're a big stir-fry fan like me 👋 . The simplicity with the one-pan technique wins our weeknight dinner game every time! . makes about 4 servings Ingredients: 2 Tbsps avocado oil, or olive oil divided 1 pound flank steak, sliced into thin 0.5'' inch pieces 1 large head of broccoli, broken into smaller florets 3 fresh garlic cloves, minced or pressed 1.5 lbs. button mushrooms, cut into quarters 2-3 green onions, sliced 1 Tbsp sesame seeds  Stir fry sauce: 1/4 cup coconut aminos, Bragg's liquid aminos, OR low sodium soy sauce 2 Tbsps fresh squeezed lemon juice 1 Tbsp grated fresh ginger 1 Tbsp sesame oil 1 Tbsp raw honey  Instructions:  Heat HALF of a Tablespoon of oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add broccoli and stir fry for 1-2 minutes, then reduce the heat, and add in 2-3 Tablespoons of water. Cover the skillet/wok, cooking for about 1-2 minutes more, or until your broccoli is crisp tender and bright green. Set aside on a plate.  Meanwhile, in a small bowl whisk all stir fry sauce ingredients and set aside.  Heat 1 tbsp oil in the skillet and add in the steak. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until cooked to your liking, then set aside.  Add in the remaining oil, garlic and mushrooms. Stir fry for 2-4 minutes.  Return steak and broccoli to the skillet/wok and pour the stir fry sauce on top. Cook for additional 2 minutes, gently stirring into the pan to get everything nicely coated with your sauce. The swiss chard in my garden is still going strong after giving me a steady supply for the last 3 months. This is one of my favorite leafy greens and it's so easy to grow. Tonight I plan to just lightly saute it in some olive oil and season with salt and pepper to serve alongside baked chicken breast and brown rice.
Lunch today was a Caesar salad wrap with a side of nectarines.  For breakfast I had a smoothie made with cold brewed coffee, cocoa powder, Stevia, 1/3 c 2% cottage cheese, unsweetened almond milk 1/2 a frozen banana and spinach. Sunday is one of my big meal prep days out of the week. I usually make some kind of baked treat for Anya’s lunches such a sweet potato brownies.  Here are a few other things I’m up to this evening... Sunday Meal Prep Checklist:  1. Steam winter squash and sweet potatoes to make brownies 2. Cook a huge batch of quinoa mixed with a little red rice and white basmati rice. (Done!) I used Lotus Foods brand red rice and Ancient Harvest pre-rinsed quinoa. 3. Wash and de-stem some kale 4. Cook some wild salmon for Anya’s lunch (I thought I made enough but she ate it all tonight!) 5. Soak a bean overnight to make soup in the morning.  Now that my quinoa rice mixture is cooked already it will make a fast breakfast in the morning. I like it plain and simple combining 1 cup of cooked grain with one cup of water, bring to a gentle boil and then lower to simmer for 20 minutes and at the end partly mash it with a potato masher. If you’d rather use some type of plant-based milk instead of the water that would be yummy and you can use sweetener like maple syrup, cinnamon, raisins etc.  Are you doing any meal prep tonight for the week?

The FASTer Way To Fat Loss is NOT an all or nothing diet! Let me say this again...it’s NOT you have a bad day and you fail type of program. — I’ve shared my struggles lately with you all. I’ve missed quite a few workouts. I had ice cream not on “leg days” this summer. I’ve had pizza with my kiddos. BUT let me tell you something, I stuck to my fasting window almost every single day! Sunday Meal-Prep 🍴🥗🤩 Meal prepping makes life so much easier! Re-set salad 🥗💆🏻‍♀️ ⁣ ⁣ INGREDIENTS:⁣⁣⁣⁣ • chopped kale⁣ • steamed beets⁣ • shredded purple cabbage⁣ • shredded carrots⁣ • sliced radishes⁣ • chopped cilantro⁣ ⁣ To steam the beets, wash them well and place in steamer for 30 minutes. Rinse under cold water and the skin will peel right off. With all the colourful veggies in this salad, it’s sure to help re-set your digestive system and get you back on track after a weekend of meals out (and help you 💩). Meal Prep Sunday’s are back! —————————————————————————— I’m at a point where I can’t afford to eat like I have been (literally can’t afford to buy jeans every time I gain weight) & I don’t think my body can handle anymore weight 🙃  I’m back to preparing meals, watch me shrink (let’s try to make this a lifestyle change this time).
After possibly one too many celebratory gins last night, today was a gentle day with lots of beige carbs and a little baking.  No more bundt cakes today, banana bread topped with some @hann.dmade chocolate peanut butter on top. Going down a treat on a Sunday evening with a cup of tea! #livingdangerously 😆
