Day 1. 🌳 . The bungalow has been vacant for around 2 years so you can imagine how overgrown and neglected it is right now. The old man who lived there built the place back in the 1970’s for himself and his wife having been given the land by his parents as a wedding present (the family owned the whole lane comprising of 4 cottages and a woodland coppice) 🦅 Today was our first full day - Ady used the chainsaw to remove the larger shrubs around the perimeter of the building (in readiness of the scaffold coming soon). Whilst I stripped wallpaper, bleached and scrubbed everything I could in the 6 hours I had there without baby Oliver. Poppy and Lily were also a huge help! . The old man who had lived there was a SUPER heavy smoker and the place is absolutely disgusting - the air inside stings your nose and throat so much! But nothing a huge scrub and lots of fresh air can’t fix. . It will be pretty! 🦢
✨Look what we found! Have a look at these photos from before... Bought in 2015 + then renovations started pretty quickly. The bedroom (now our guest room) didn’t have too much done to it, however the rest of the house had quite a bit of a fix up. Our bedroom was originally the lounge, and how gorgeous it could have been with just a few touch ups. Instead it was transformed to turn the property into a two bed. I love the features in our bedroom because of this. The big bay window + fireplace 😍 Out came the old radiator + in went a lovely vertical wall fitted one instead (not pictured), plus the addition of our lovely big wardrobes. Swipe to see... #weregoingwyles#renovationstory
What have you been up to today? I’ve had a Christmassy day at @blogonuk blogging conference, which has a fun Christmas theme and loads of sneak peeks into the hottest toys that will be all over Christmas lists this year. I wore my Christmas jumper from @neonmarl - though I pretty much had to take it off straight away as it was so hot today! I got home just in time to put the girls to bed and they talked non-stop for about 3/4 of an hour about every *single* thing they’ve done today 😂 I just wanted something to eat 🙈 Thanks @golden_guillotine for my hair, the curl stayed in overnight 🙌🏻#christmasjumper #blogontoys#merryandbright
Parquet parquet parquet || Thank god he’s finally finished laying the floor.....what a job but my word he’s done an amazing job. Oh and we’re having coir matting in the space that’s currently left empty. We’re going to buy some tomorrow and an oak threshold. Then next weekends job is to sand and seal the floor..✌🏻
It's #openhouselondon, where some of the capital's most interesting buildings will be opening their doors to the public, for this weekend only. How do some of London's most spectacular homes inspire you when it comes to interior design?
“You’re not painting any of the other doors though are you?!” ... my husband’s reaction to the mustard doorway is his way of telling me he doesn’t like it 😆 but I do & more importantly Thomas loves it 💛 although he did ask if I can paint “Go on Spurs” on the wall with my leftover yellow paint 😱🤦🏻♀️ Anyone else really up against it when it comes to convincing their other halves?
