Energy is currency. When you “pay” attention to something, you’re buying an experience - it’s an investment so “spend” carefully and only on things that will bring you a good return. Be selective. Treat your time with as much care as you would your finances. It’s equally as valuable.
Exactly 1 year ago I started this IG page. I had a dream, a vision, a passion. A deep feeling that I was to do something more with my life. This fire burned so strongly within me, but there has been a very real and very serious extinguisher looking me in the eye every day since...fear. . I had never started a businesses before. I knew zero. Not only that, but I was still very much in a deep state of self-healing. Years of major life-stressors, one after another, had left me in a place where I no longer knew who I was. On top of it, I was working a full-time job, raising two kids, running a household solo, and barely had any time to myself...let alone take on something new. The fear is so real. . However, my pure love and passion for what I do has been stronger than my fear. And I didn’t let my self-doubt and negative thoughts hold me back. (Though it’s way HARD some days...). . Today, when I realized a year has passed, I realize and recognize the importance of love over fear. . Throughout this year, my knowledge and practice for the work I do deepens daily. Not only for my own self-growth and healing, but to serve others. I have been vigorously training in Ayurveda, reiki, business, meditation, yoga, breathwork, energy work, essential oils, functional medicine, and so much more. I have worked with over now given over 100 clients, locally and globally. I have not only started 1, but now 2 businesses that I love (Holistic Crews, LLC and Crews Anesthesia, PLLC). I left my full-time job to live a life on my own schedule. And through all that, raising 2 amazing kiddos, homeschooling one of them, holding down the fort of house/life stuff, and most importantly...caring deeply for myself and my wellbeing first. I feel so whole physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually...and all it took was saying “no” to fear. . By no means am I saying all of this for high fives...only with the hope inspire you to NOT let fear stop you. . When you know you want to do
Before I went into labor I was told by several people that I WOULD feel like a warrior afterward... 🥊 💪 🤰 💃 💃 💃 💃 ( I don't know why this emoji lady in the red dress epitomizes power to me, but she does...) . But, as it would turn out I didn't feel like a warrior... I just felt overwhelmingly grateful. It's the one emotion that I try to experience every single day, but nothing has ever been such a gut punch (pun intended 🤣 #momjokes) quite like hearing "you have a healthy baby boy, congratulations Mom and Dad"...After 9-months of caring for this little babe as well as I could he was here... I was speechless- literally. I kept trying to say thank you to the staff, I love you to Greg, but all I could do was hold our son and let the emotions wash over me. It was like being swallowed up by a big wave in the ocean. Nothing you can do but wait until it lets you go enough to swim. . If you're a soon-to-be-mama and you're getting all kinds of advice, or people are telling you how it will be... Here is the best non-advice advice I received from a family member with a big beautiful heart "listen to the advice and take what works for you and know there is no baby like yours... there is no mama like you." Your story is precious because it's yours, and as long as you raise your child with effort and lots of love I don't think anyone can truly say you're doing it wrong. At least not all wrong, right 😅 ?
When we move off the shore, where the waves come in slowly to the sand and make the choice to head out of the cove... . . you'll face the change of the water current. . . It will take navigation. . . It will take being a bit seasick. . . It will take paying attention. . . This is life. . . I use to think when I was about 10 or so, that "LIFE" would eventually get "easier"- it was no where close to what reality is, what was about to unfold was how to navigate in LIVING LIFE. . . Some parts would be so much easier, while others would be more difficult. . . Little did I realize my Mom would walk out on our family when I was just turned sixteen. . . Leaving me with the thoughts of now what, how would my 12-year-old sister, my 6-year-old brother and I "make it"- had no idea what to do?! . . I didn't have my license, never recalled going to the grocery store jaunt with my Mom, we had a very broken relationship in the 3 years we had moved from the east coast and she just didn't teach the things that a girl needed to do in order to find out how to transition in being a woman. . . Then later in life... had to navigate again. . . The time when we weren't able to pay our mortgage for months in 2008, because we had four kids to feed breakfast, lunch, and dinner. . . The time we miscarried, and then again, and then one more time. . . The time when my horse Picasso coliced, and on August 31st would take his last breath... this moment was where time stood still and was as if I was standing in quick-sand. . . The time when I thought our six-month-old was dying before me, only to now have a 7-year old that pushes me to strive. . . These were times I thought my life was falling apart, ONLY now to realize I was needing different answers to my questions. . . Today, where are you in your boat NOW from where you had to navigate life in finding new answers? . . Next step, meet me here: https://www.warriorsistermovement.com

It’s a joy and a challenge, life-giving yet exhausting, our greatest adventure and so scary! To all of you business-minded moms who are busy growing your family and business, I encourage you to take part in the 4th Annual Mompreneur event. It’s hosted by The Catalyst Center for Business & Entrepreneurship and is coming up this Friday, September 20. The agenda is packed full of programs by leaders in our community that will help you with everything from social media and time management to legal and accounting. How To Manage Your Emails Like a Pro – I Declare Email Bankruptcy! . . Back in the day when I was a new principal, I received a sh*t ton of emails on the daily. Clearly, I didn’t know how to manage my inbox or maybe I just chose to ignore them. 🤷🏻♀️ I was drowning in a sea of emails.. When the school district IT department tells you that other than the superintendent, no one had as many emails as I did, 😳 you know it’s a problem. Yikes! Rather than try to tackle all the emails, I decided to declare email bankruptcy. 🤦🏻♀️Yep, I sure did! I deleted every single email in both my inbox and in my outbox. Best thing I ever did! I figured if the emails were that important to someone, they would make an effort to get in touch with me. Everyone freaked out. 🤣 They couldn’t believe it. But for me, it was a fresh start and an opportunity to create a system. 👍🏼 And y’all know I love a good system. Now, I’m not saying you should delete all of your emails 🚫 — but I am encouraging you to have a system. How To Manage The Messages 1️⃣ Schedule time in your day to manage your emails. 2️⃣ Check your emails once, at the most 2 times per day. 3️⃣ Turn off your email notifications to eliminate distractions. 4️⃣ Don’t check your emails first thing in the morning. When you do, YOUR priorities take a back seat to everyone else’s needs and demands. 5️⃣ Create folders for the emails you need to save. 6️⃣ Copy yourself on the emails that you send & want to be able to find easily at a later time. These are just a handful of the tips I’ve learned over the years. I hope they’re helpful for you. I’ve also got a system to actually empty that inbox in 10 minutes or less. ✅ More on that later. For now, 🗂 save this post, girlfriend. You might just need it sooner than ya think.
#inspirationwednesday ”Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” 1Corinthians 13: 4-7 ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ 🤲🏼 Motherhood is both rewarding and challenging at the same time. You will never be ready to take on this job and no one will hand you an A to Z training manual on motherhood. As #mompreneurs , we go through our days struggling to finding time to run our business, run our families and if possible setting aside some “me” time. God remind us in his word, that love bears all things. Let love be your fuel to be your best at running your business, supporting your family and most importantly taking care of yourself. Let’s close our eyes and feel the source of our love, it is endless and it is always there to get us through each day. Sending lots of ❤️ to all the soon to be moms that come to the shop and show me support and to all my amazing customers that are constantly showing me love with your kind words when I’m behind the kitchen. 📸 @marcelaplosker 👗 @shoprosejp
I love a simple beauty routine and it brings out the confidence inside of me that sometimes gets lost in all the mommy mayhem. Anyone else feel the same way? 🙋🏽♀️ Beauty is skin deep. Period. I’m just over here in love with simple routines, a little lip gloss, good skincare, and good company (friends and family) to remind me that beauty is more than what’s on the exterior! Type YES if you agree babes!
What a beautiful Wednesday! We had a blast sharing tips about our business ( we all build our business from home) and advices about motherhood 💕 It’s amazing to have such a great support system around me 🙌🏻 #mompreneurs . . . . . #workfromhome#wednesday#bossbabes
