SORRY HAD TO REPOST, realized 2/3 of the videos weren’t uploaded so please re watch! Recently got a request from someone asking about solutions to neck discomfort and this is not surprising with the typical position of flexion we put our necks in at all times. When our head is placed at 45 degrees it can place up to 23 kilograms on the neck. Before we get into the movement based correctives here are some suggestions to improve the problem in terms of ergonomics: Re design your work space: make sure your eyes are level with the top of your monitor so your cervical spine doesn’t have to go into flexion to see it. Raise or lower your chair/desk so your arms are parallel with the floor. Sit at 100 degrees rather than 90 degrees from the hip to maintain normal curvature from the spine. Raise or lower arm rests so that your shoulders are in a neutral position( no elevation or depression). Now, other than changing your posture, you could also start including aerobic exercise into your daily life to improve circulatory function and blood flow to the tissues and relieve some of the stress on the neck muscles giving you problems. Finally for the correctives, the muscles that could be overactive(tight) or underactive that coincide with each other to produce neck function are the levator scapulae, sternocleidomastoid, trapezius, deep cervical flexors, sub occipitals and your erector spinae. This entire group of musculature is covered in the video and aid to produce flexion, extension and rotation of the neck. Hopefully this video won’t just provide an acute elevation of the discomfort for now, it will assist you in your posture for LIFE and allow you to eventually live pain free. If you want to learn more about the movements and the function of these muscles feel free to DM me! Keep sending those requests guys let’s all get better together #mambamentality
Lisa’s 3rd Interview with Kobe Bryant. Showing up isn’t enough. It’s how prepared and how determined you are when you show up that’ll lead to success. Kobe signed his book,”The Mamba Mentality” for her their last meeting. Inside he wrote,”Dream Big!” This inspired Lisa to apply for her Executive Masters Degree in Sports Management at Temple University. She was accepted and is currently in session. Dream Big. Never Stop Dreaming. Never stop chasing your Dream. I’m so proud of my Lisa. Great job♥️ #kobebryant#mambamentality#dreambig#proud
