Hallelujah! Woken up feeling SO much better, very hopeful that it was just a 24 hour bug and that today will be a normal day. I love this verse for @30daysofbiblelettering. When I worked as a worship pastor I would often reflect on this verse as I think it has huge implications for how we should worship. It shows us how important it is that the songs we sing are based on the message of Christ, because as we sing we are teaching one another. Songs have an incredible power to help us to learn- we sing songs to children, we will often find it easier to remember lyrics than a chunk of text (when revising for exams, did anyone else put phrases to songs or tunes to help them remember?! Or was that just me?! 🤣). What we sing, we will remember and so there is a huge challenge for song writers to make sure that every word teaches us the message of Christ. Secondly, this verse teaches us that different types of singing is also important, there is a place for psalms, hymns and songs from the spirit. I don’t want to get into a big theological debate so I won’t say too much more but I would suggest that this verse implies it is right to sing songs that are handed down through generations, like hymns, but that it is also right to sing spontaneous songs, to listen to what the Spirit may place on our hearts and to sing it out. Thirdly, it tells us about our attitude in worship. Our worship should always come from a place of gratitude in our hearts. The Lord has done so much, our response is gratitude. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I hope you have had a good week and that you have a great Friday!

>>9 YEARS AGO >> this beautiful spiky little butterball careened into our atmosphere. A month ahead of schedule and utterly perfect in every way. I only feel around 27 years older than I did then 🤪. Who says parenting is ageing? 🤫😂🙋♀️
"Is it worth driving back and forth to all those rehearsals? Will they enjoy it? Are there lasting benefits to all this effort?" These are often questions we ask ourselves as parents and caregivers as we deliberate whether or not to put our kids in music,🎸 sports⚽, art🎨 or theater🎭. ⠀ ⠀ KNOWING how it can HELP them allows us to make better choices. Many people don't realize the amazing benefits that come from giving your kids the chance to perform on stage! It not only benefits your child now . . . but also years down the road.⠀ ⠀ https://www.scholastic.com/parents/family-life/parent-child/how-performing-arts-benefit-kids.html⠀ ⠀ ⠀ #livecreatively#nssota#newsong#shoolofthearts#theater#drama#music#art
