So having just collected a bag full of rubbish of the beach this morning with Cooper, this was the scene as I left. Heartbreaking. Seagulls were tearing it apart making it worse, not that you can blame them. As I stood there looking at the mess a couple approached me and said “we need more bins”, to which I replied “I kinda think that if people are prepared to bring it on they should be able to take it away with them”. Anyway I took Cooper home then came back with a few bin bags and cleared it all up. I met some lovely people as I was doing so who came to talk to me, thanking me for the effort and even helped me take the bags off the beach to dispose of them. Really hope that the council come and empty these bins today as it’s going to be another busy day here. Apparently as one bloke told me, the bins are overflowing even more down the other end of the beach at Black Rock 😞 Please take your rubbish home with you? 🤷🏻♂️ • • #2minutebeachclean#carefullittering#takeyourrubbishhome#keepbritaintidy#keepwalestidy#blackrocksands
Yesterday’s scheduled litter pick was undertaken in very hot weather but our wonderful volunteers were not deterred and managed to fill 10 full bags of rubbish and continue weed clearance. A massive thank you to Daniela, Eric, Katy, Adam, Rog, Helen, Stephen, Jean and our youngest recruit Meliyah for their hard work. We tackled Beech Road, parts of Kingsmead and Abbey Barn Road, London Road, Bottom of Cock Lane, Bank Street, Gomm Road and Victor Lay Place. First outing also for our new Hi Vis vests. Great to meet some like minded residents along the way from Fennel’s Road and Abbey Barn Road. #lovewhereyoulive#keepbritaintidy#actionsnotwords#makingadifference
