Meet Blackjack! This sweet six-year-old hound mix came to Animal Haven after being rescued from The Bahamas post Hurricane Dorian. Sadly, the entire Abaco shelter was destroyed and only a few dogs survived. 😢 Blackjack was one of the lucky ones. After spending years at the island shelter, he is now in NYC looking for his forever home. There are just a few things to note about our boy - other than the fact that he's a total doll. If you have other animals, we recommend a meet and greet and he's currently being treated for a tick born disease. But don't let that deter you! His treatment will be completed in his new home and covered by Animal Haven. Once complete in a month or so, he'll be good to go. 👌 Please come down and meet Blackjack and the many other Hurricane Dorian rescues in our care Tuesday-Sunday between 12 and 6pm at 200 Centre Street in NYC. They all need you! Adopting an island dog is a beautiful way to help. #animalhaven#adopt#rescue#thebahamas#islanddog#rescuedogs#dogsofinstagram#bahamas#adoption#houndmix#hurricanedorian#hurricanedorian2019#rescuedog

We’re entering our third week on the ground in the Bahamas. We’re grateful for the support of our friends at @hsiglobal and @americanhumane who answered our request to assist the massive animal relief effort on the ground.⠀ ⠀ Our focus is still on life-saving missions to get animals out of areas hit hardest by Hurricane #dorian. Rescues and emergency veterinary triage are 24/7 and it’s all worth it when we see animals reunited with their families.⠀ ⠀ A huge thank you to our partners @WingsofRescue and @greatergoodorg who are supporting the movement of over 50,000 pounds of vital supplies into areas that need them most.⠀ ⠀ To report lost, found, or injured animals or if you're interested in volunteering supplies, vessels, or planes, please send an email to DorianAnimalRelief@gmail.com or a WhatsApp text to 242-427-7729.
As an @aetherabeauty company founder, I’m extremely proud that we’re donating 50% of sales this month to #hurricanedorian relief efforts in the Bahamas. Aethera treasures the tropical botanical concentrates found and used locally in the Caribbean. Many of these regional fruits, flowers, and seeds produce extracts and oils that are found in the active bases of our formulas, and want everyone in the Bahamas to know that Aethera stands with them 🇧🇸 💙 #bahamasstrong
From diapers to paper products, Hilldrup Orlando quickly donated moving boxes filled with necessities for families and individuals displaced and in need following Hurricane Dorian's destruction. Job well done, team! #teamhilldrup#hilldrupdelivers#hurricanedorian
@helpthebahamas ・・・ SOUND ON 🔉 A super productive week working on our mission, followed by another hurricane forcing us to stay landlocked. Emotions have been both sky high with things falling into place, and incredibly low with delays, problematic paperwork and more. This past week the people of Abaco and Grand Bahamas have been hit with yet more rain and heavy winds as they attempt to rebuild their lives and although aid continues to reach them, many of us in Florida have felt frustrated with the ocean stopping our path to reach the people in need of larger goods such as boats, wood, and building materials. To go on @silenthuntergroup has been working on paperwork, logistic etc. while both @go_native_freediving and @chel_s_e_a have been working tirelessly on the @helpthebahamas projects - collecting boats, sanding, painting, loading, unloading, you name it! The good news is we now have 4 boats and 4 engines ready to leave, in addition we have solar panels, generators and more. We’re now simply waiting for a weather window which’ll allow us to cross, and make our way safely to our remote destination which we hope will be Monday 🙏🏽 Thank you once again everyone for your continued support, we will keep you all updated with our progress. We’re getting there! 🙏🏽🇧🇸 . We at @daystovote thought it would be fun to prepare for the apocalypse tonight (the two day long climate debate — not the climate apocalypse that will undoubtedly be discussed) with a drinking game. Whatever you drink, just make sure it is in moderation, and also be sure that it is not water...that is in short supply.
We have 1 1/2 weeks left for our Bahamas relief drive!! Please donate any items on the list and drop them off in the student service center. We appreciate all the students and staff who have already contributed to our neighbors. #miamisna#westcoastuniversity#bahamas#hurricanedorian 🇧🇸 🇧🇸🇧🇸🇧🇸🇧🇸🇧🇸🇧🇸🇧🇸🇧🇸🇧🇸🇧🇸🇧🇸🇧🇸🇧🇸🇧🇸🇧🇸
