Happy Thursday, friends! My #misfitsmarket box for this week arrives today and I'm so excited! I love seeing what's inside and figuring out just how we'll use it all. Eating organic, seasonal produce (and local as much as possible) is very important to me, and @misfitsmarket takes a lot of the stress out of sourcing. I'll also be picking local, organic blueberries to freeze, and I'm knee-deep in researching @plexusworldwide's products. I have to research things before I can pass judgement, so here goes. . .  There's all sorts of products on the market nowadays that promise health, beauty, and vitality. And you guys, I am the ultimate skeptic. But when I find a company that meets my standards, I share them. . .  However, I can say that all the magic drinks/pills in the world aren't going to help you if your habits and environment are unhealthy 🤷 . . Time to start lifting heavier again, the last couple of weeks of my own training have been inconsistent, hurt my back, wasn’t well (dreaded man flu 🤧) and home in Ireland 🇮🇪 for a week.  Fees good to get back into some heavier weights. In September, I will be launching a free 1 month strong September Challenge! This will focus on improving your all-round health and not just looking at fitness. There will be a closed Facebook group for all who wish to take part, where you can share your progress, ask questions and get support if you’re having a tough day. Throughout September you will be given workouts to follow as well as dietary guidelines, but you will be pleased to know there will be no calorie counting! There will also be a focus on other factors such as sleep length and quality, stress and daily activity aside from working out.  The person who I see a biggest change in, will win 2 months of free online personal training. In order for me to see progress, I encourage lots of sharing of your journey in the Facebook group. The change is not just looking at aesthetics but also the other lifestyle factors too. The more you share in the group the better our community will be and the more support everyone will gain. You never know sharing your experience, of perhaps not wanting to do a workout one day but persevering and then feeling much better afterwards may encourage someone else to do theirs. By creating this community, we will all be helping improve the health of others by motivating each other. So this is just me taking a moment to express my excitement. So, for months now I'd been averaging 4,000 to maybe 5,000 something steps at the end of my day. Mind you this was ONLY if I walked the dog long enough or worked out for 30 minutes. When you're in a dark place, time doesn't pass normally and any effort feels like you've given all you had. I'm proud of the effort I put forth when things were a bit darker for me because it kept me active enough, that I've gotten here now. Just do the next best thing.  The last couple weeks have been INSANE. Everything seems to be high priority and need my immediate attention. How healthy are you? Actually, the better question in my mind is, "what do you consider as good health?" - Because in my world, my health consists of four parts:  1. Mental.  2. Emotional.  3. Physical.  4. Spiritual. Four equal parts that live in harmony together to create balance and peace within me. - This is what I have discovered for myself, this is what I focus on, and this is why I feel so damn good. I am legitimately dedicated to my well being -and for me- that means I need to be connected to my body; I have to move and exercise and play volleyball and do the things my body loves to do. I also need to acknowledge and accept and work through my emotions. I have to be connected to my mind to be connected to my body and my thoughts. And - I have to trust my intuition and believe in what I believe in. No doubts, no outer influence, just me and my truth. - I find it very interesting how this knowledge and understanding has shaped my life into what it is now. Because I went from the darkest place of my life, to this one that is blinding with light. And it's because I was cracked open, when I hit rock bottom, that I saw that light seep in. So I decided to reach for it. Then reach higher. Until I was climbing all of the way out of the darkness - because I wanted to feel that light in my life so damn much. And I was able to do it all because I was committed to the journey - to my self - and I never stopped. - Because this is an every day thing. Being conscious and committed. Thinking that I want this day to be even better then the last, and doing everything in my power to make that happen. This is just how I live my life now - constantly seeking out the good, the positive, the best in every experience. This is quite possibly one of my favourite photos ever. 🌎⁣ ⁣ When I look at it - I am instantly taken back to that F E E L I N G. ⁣ ⁣ My bestie + I had just crushed an EPIC sweat session live on the top of a cruise ship as it pulled into the Bahamas. ⁣ ⁣ Getting sweaty with so many others - many of which we didn’t even know. But the power of a group of people all working on bettering themselves? Is like none other. ⁣ ⁣ We retrieved our men + headed out to explore the island - not a care in the world, no time pressures, schedule or to do list. ⁣ ⁣ Looking at this photo - I find peace, joy + clarity. I am reminded of why I wake up at 5am. And why I stay up late working into the night. ⁣ ⁣ This is only the beginning of this life of FREEDOM we are creating. Those small tastes have me craving more. I have struggled most of my life trying to stay at a healthy weight. It was extremely tough because I was an emotional eater. I was also addicted to sweets such as cakes, cookies and etc. I have tried all kinds of weight loss diets but only to gain all of the weight back. I finally found something sustainable that cut my sugar cravings, heighten my energy, put me in fat burning mode, and help me understand the importance of healthy habits.
