Hello Jasper 🐶 Did you know there are service dogs that can assist people with T1D? These dogs are trained to detect high and low blood sugars and alert you of these sudden changes. For as long as I can remember I wanted a diabetes service dog, but after a lot of research, long waitlists, training, and financial $$ I decided that this just wasn't feasible for me. Last year we decided to welcome our little "dood" into our life. Although he is not a trained service dog he is always by my side and makes me feel safe and that's what is important! Everything is feeling very solid lately. Strength is increasing, quality mass has steadily been added, and my body is feeling healthy most importantly. Doing the same thing, day in and day out may seem like a chore to some, but to me, this is what it's all about. No secret pill, no thrills, no handouts. Just putting in the work 24/7.
🌿💛 Pesto Pasta! by @theplantifulchef . Recipe: Serves 2 160-200g pasta (depending how hungry you are) 1 cup broccoli florets (about half a large head steamed over the boiling pasta in a sieve until slightly soft, rinsed in cold water straight away) 2/3 cup packed fresh basil 1 clove of garlic 1/3 cup fresh frozen garden peas 1tbs nutritional yeast juice of half a lemon 2tbs of water to blend . Get the pasta on to boil and steam the broccoli over the boiling pasta until slightly soft then rinse in cold water. Place all ingredients into blender and blend, add in the water 1tbs at a time just to get it going. When the pasta is cooked drain and rinse, add the pesto and mix well, return to heat and warm through for a few minutes. Serve and enjoy! 🙏 "Green Goodness 12 Minute Pesto Pasta" theplantifulchef.com

💕Obligatory Food Instagram Oatmeal Post💕 No matter what time I wake up, I always crave breakfast foods for my first meal of the day. So here is my almost 1pm breakfast meal! I like to wake up, drink coffee, and relax until I’m hungry. On another note, oatmeal is really hard to take pretty pictures of💕 I always add 2 TBSP (perfect amount in my opinion) of @vega_team vanilla or chocolate protein powder to my oats (1/2 cup of oats) and lots of cinnamon. Topped with peanut butter, pumpkin seeds, chia seeds, hemp seeds, and frozen blueberries and a nice sprinkle of Himalayan pink sea salt on the very top (this gives the oats and PB SO much flavor- I don’t even bother making oats unless I have salt on hand!) In this hot summer heat, I love adding the frozen berries after cooking the oatmeal. It cools down the oatmeal perfectly and you’re not a sweaty mess after eating it😂 💕
If there are any lessons I can take away from this year it would be to surround yourself with 6 types of people. . . The inspired, the motivated, the passionate, the grateful, the open minded and especially the empaths. . . Not to mention giving yourself a break when your doing your best and living in the lime light like this photo. Don't shrink yourself into places and people you've outgrown. Don't let anyone dull your shine. Never compare. Be your own damn rockstar.
