I realize visually this is not the sexiest post you will scroll across today, but there is really good information in this chart from a very high level study that will likely pertain to you and your health either today or at some point in your life. This study looked at over 3,000 ASYMPTOMATIC individuals imaging results and summarized the data into the above chart. That means nobody in this study had any pain or symptoms that would have indicated the necessity for imaging work up to begin with. What they found, in layman’s terms, is by the time you are about 30 years old, over half of the population is likely to have some sort of disc degeneration without pain. Think about that. People with pain tend to focus too much on their “arthritis, disc bulges, disc protrusions, (insert other anatomical structures people have googled and self diagnosed musculoskeletal pathology).” Many times, (over 50% of the time in people over 30) these changes may be present, but are not always the cause of your pain! #fitness#fitspo#fitlife#health#health&wellness #healthyliving#healthylifestyle#exercise#lift#liftweights#physicaltherapy#choosept#nashville#brentwood#franklin#mtjuliet Article credit: Brinjikji, W., Luetmer, P., Comstock, B., Bresnahan, B., Chen, L., Deyo, R., Halabi, S., Turner, J., Avins, A., James, K., Wald, J., Kallmes, D. and Jarvik, J.
