Attempted making vegetarian rissoles tonight. They tasted delicious but I need to try a different recipe, as I want them to stick together a bit more. Anyone have any suggestions? Tell me the secret? 😜😄 Maybe a bit of corn flour? To make these I blended a tin of red kidney beans, mixed with finely chopped mushroom, onion, garlic and parsley. It had one egg, salt, pepper and cumin in the mix too. They tasted really close to beef rissoles to be honest, which amazed me, I’d love to perfect these as they would be so great for lunch. Pregnancy green smoothie 🍐🥬 What’s a common preggo problem? Getting a bit blocked up! Yep, I’m talkin’ about the ol’ bowels - constipation 🙈. I’ve started  chugging back the green smoothies in an effort to up my greens, vitamins and minerals intake, and help relieve that afternoon tiredness. . I created this recipe today that seems to be perfect for keeping the insides healthy and regular 👏 . Pear - good for adding fibre. I used two. Prunes - we all know they work their magic! I added three. Kale & spinach - hello... healthy x5000. I just used a handful. LSA - because I ALWAYS add it to smoothies. I used about two spoonfuls. Turmeric - because it felt like the right thing to do and I wanted to see what it tasted like in this concoction! You only want about half a tsp. Apparently turmeric should only be used in small amounts during pregnancy. . Add about 1.5C water and some ice cubes. . Taste: this is more a savoury type of green smoothie than a sweet one. You definitely want both of the pears in there! . I love experimenting with green smoothie recipes - how about you? My favourite is using pineapple and coconut milk as a base! Look at that COLOUR !🌈 After cooking Japanese pancakes 'Okonomiyaki' for the 1st time last year,  I love experimenting with them and adding different veg. The great thing is they use a wide variety of veg can be used ss a side,  main or snack and the kids will eat them. . Here I teamed them with some wedges with garlic and rosemary , purple carrots and some #glutenfree  chicken schnitzel with my home made breadcrumbs. . This is the way I make them now,  if you want to give them a go. ...... 1 cup of gluten free self raising flour 4 eggs 2 1/2 cups finely sliced/shredded purple cabbage 1 grated carrot 3 chopped spring onions 1/4 cup frozen peas, soaked in boiling water for 5 mins 3/4 cup/60g of vermecelli noodles prepped according to pack instructions. You can add some cumin, tumeric or  fresh ginger if you want to add more flavour and anti-oxidant power. . Mix the flour, eggs, cooked noddles and vegetables in a bowl.  Heat your pan with a bit of olive oil and spoon the mixture into the pan to cook the size pancakesyou want.  Cook on the first dose for 3-5 minutes and then flip and cook the other side till crispy &  golden. As the saying goes: fail to prepare, prepare to fail, and meal prep definitely helps many people succeed. There are various options available, and I have be outlining them over a 3-part series.  Option 3 (in no particular order) - Buy from a meal prep company... There are now loads of companies to do meal prep. Some are pretty cheap and some are more expensive. Most will give you some food choices and details of calories and macros. Unfortunately if you're veggie or vegan you'll have a tougher time finding commercial meal prep than if you eat meat or fish.  Benefits of doing this include: ✔ You don't need to cook ✔ You don't need to enter a supermarket where you may get tempted off plan ✔ Choose what you like best ✔ Less time spent cooking during the week - overall time is saved ✔ Have to think less during the week ✔ Keeps you on track with nutrition plan  Drawbacks include: ✖ Have to order in advance & pick up delivery ✖ More expensive than DIY  Many people have had weight loss success using this method, including my client @mafm86 who used @leanfuel  Do you meal prep yourself? Throwing a simple lunch/dinner (= linner) together here – left-over roast veggies with leafy greens and sunflower seeds.
