 Good morning #fitfam ☀️☀️☀️ So, yesterday I shared that I wanted to be more consistent with healthy eating/snacking between meals vs. grabbing snacks with no nutritional value between meals. I know snacking isn’t for everyone. For me snacking really keeps my energy high throughout that day! Especially between lunch and dinner. If I don’t have a set plan, I tend to get off track. Here are a few PROTEIN PACKED recipes I’m eating in between meals. Gotta meet those #proteingoals 💪🙂 ****1. Taco stuffed tomato. I had meat left over from making tacos  the night before- So it making this was quick and simple! I cut and stuffed a beefsteak tomato with cooked black beans, seasoned ground beef, sour cream, topped with cheese, surround with salad(just for presentation really🤷🏼‍♀️) ****2. Tuna wraps! Who else loves pickles?! 🙋🏼‍♀️🙋🏼‍♀️🙋🏼‍♀️ I mixed a can of light tuna with 1 tbsp mayo and a handful of shredded cheese, added to sliced pickles with fresh spinach leaves- to make a little sandwich -these were quick easy and all protein! 😍 ****3. Hard boiled egg “sandwich”. This is easy peasy! Take a hard boiled egg. Simply slice the egg in half and add bacon and cheese. Top with salt & pepper. Let’s give said person the benefit of the doubt and say they cook dinner every night. If we use our statistics above, the 2 commercial meals per day come out to $130/week...and that doesn’t include going out and spending money on dinners/drinks on the weekend. ✖️✖️✖️ The picture above is all of the food I use to prepare my meals each week. I currently eat over 4,000 calories per day, and these groceries last 1-2 weeks. Even at 4000 calories per day, These groceries cost less than half of what our 2 commercial meal per day example spends  every 2 weeks. ✖️✖️✖️ The excuse of “eating healthy is too expensive” is not viable. It is just that—an excuse. If you prepare your meals for the week, you will be healthier, will save money, will have more energy, and will have more time throughout the week. Pack your meals the night before.
