MISCONCEPTION MONDAY - “I’m tracking everything I eat, so I should be losing weight” - Yeah that’s me looking back at another person that confuses tracking with planning! - Tracking your food IS important. It’s always the first step I use with a client to set up their nutrition. BUT, simply tracking your food is not going to be enough! - There is a HUGE difference between tracking your food and pre-planning based on specific targets. - Simply tracking your food might as well be “dear diary”. - Just putting your food into your favorite food tracking app isn’t going to help you lose weight. It’s not going to make the calories have any less of an effect on your body. - Tracking your food DOES give us an idea of how much you’re eating, how often you prefer to eat, how much your calories fluctuate day to day, how much protein you tend to get daily, as well as many other pieces of info that help us set up your nutritional targets. - Now what you will almost always need to do to be successful with dieting is PRE-PLANNING YOUR FOOD. Yes I know this will be work. Yes it will take effort. It will take a bit of time. BUT, it will end up saving you time long term thinking about what to eat for your next meal and it will DEFINITELY give you the best chance to actually hitting your nutritional targets. - As long as I’ve been working with training and nutrition clients (13+ years) I’ve never had someone be successful without pre-planning their food in the beginning. - This is not a life time jail sentence. A few months in you will have a much better feel and idea of how often and how much per meal you should be eating to hit your targets. - That’s where the magic happens my friends. Now please, pre plan your food based on your goals. Hit it consistently for even a couple months. It will change your life AND out look in nutrition. - Again, I hope this helps to shed some light on another Fitness hurdle. Make sure to leave more topics you’d like me to
I was tagged by @carnivoremami for the 8 year challenge! Well mine is almost 8 years ago 😅. I could use my tummy as a table top 😄(Twins in there). It is very possibleto get your body back if you set your mind and actually put some hard work in it💪🏻 I want you to know I just didn’t magically shrink. Ok?!
STEP OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE! - Today was all about that for me. - I had my first training session in quite a while today. I took a trip over to @atlasperformancetraining and got in a sesh with my boy @travis_peetz - I’ve known Travis for over a decade and he’s one of a handful of trainers here local that I would send my own friends and family to. - That being said, he’s an absolute maniac in the gym! - I knew I was about to walk into some shit when we agreed to a training session. - It’s was about 30 minutes of high rep, low to no rest and constant moving. - It has been a long time since I’ve done any BFR training and the pump from both my biceps and triceps blew my mind. - This was EXACTLY what I needed. - I had another Dexa scan last week and it was painfully obvious how far I’ve let things slip. Weight and lean tissue down, body fat up. Literally worst case scenario. - I needed to step outside of my comfort zone. I needed to be pushed! Yes, trainers need trainers too! - Look at every top end athlete. They ALL rely on other people to help them bring their A game. - So if you feel like you are stuck in a rut and need a little kick in the pants then message me. I’m right here in the trenches with you. - But please be ready! Be ready to work! Be ready to give effort! And most of all, be ready to get out of your comfort zone! - Abnormal results come from abnormal efforts!!
