Aggression And Thinking Time! ________________________________ Sometimes when we’re feeling angry, we just need to walk away from the specific situation that is the source of the anger, for a little while. This can give us time to work out what we really think about the situation, decide how we want to react to it, and feel more in control.  ________________________________ Some ways we can buy ourselves time to think are: • Counting to 10 before we react. • Going for a short walk – even if it’s just around our local area. • Talking to a trusted friend who’s not connected to the situation. ________________________________ Expressing our thoughts out loud can help us understand why we’re angry and help calm us down. ⁣ Gentle reminder + some tips of self care habits !! ⁣ ⁣ I see self care being perceived online as buying expensive face masks, taking a lush bath in rose water, getting manicures. “treating yourself” oftentimes with an undertone of “with expensive products”. ⁣ ⁣ Self care doesn’t have to be expensive. ⁣ Self care shouldn’t be so much about consumerism, about splurging. sure, if manicures is your thing, and you value that as a part of your routine, it’s okay. ⁣ ⁣ You do you, no shame in that. ⁣ ⁣ But self care is so much more !! It’s about nurturing the mind, soul, body, and the world around you. It’s about positive, mindful, kind habits and actions. ⁣ Self care can be cleaning your carpet. Ihr Körper hat in diesen Hochstressphasen gelernt schnell zu reagieren, um das Überleben zu sichern.  Auch, wenn die reale Gefahr vorüber ist, sind die Erregungsleitungen weiterhin gestört. . ⚡ Mythos 2: "Borderliner verletzten sich selber, weil sie Aufmerksamkeit wollen" Richtig: Selbstverletzendes Verhalten ist oft kein Schrei nach Aufmerksamkeit, sondern Zeichen eines Überlebenskampfes und der verzweifelte Versuch die intensiv erlebten Spannungszustände abzubauen. . 💀 Mythos 3: "Borderline Betroffene sind böse und manipulative Menschen" Richtig: Borderline Betroffene kämpfen jeden Tag gegen ihre emotionale Verletzlichkeit. Sie sind starke Persönlichkeiten, die nicht so schnell aufgeben. Sie besitzen oft ein großes Einfühlungsvermögen in andere, sind loyal gegenüber ihren Mitmenschen zu denen sie Vertrauen aufgebaut haben. This morning is about self care ✨ Best friend reminded me last night about my lack of self care these days, what happened to my morning walks to clear my mind? 🌳 Gone are the sporadic 20 minute yoga and meditation sessions, essential oils are no longer my essentials and I'm barely getting out of bed everyday 🥺 . Time to pick myself up however hard that may be, I struggle with consoling and caring for myself with compassion and I feel like when I do it's forced. Anybody else feel like this? Out here publishing those ugly pics to remind the world that anxiety doesn’t have a face 💛🙃 Both of these photos were taken yesterday afternoon, at different times when I was coping & processing my anxiety in different ways. For complete transparency & to #smashthestigma , in this first pic I was running on pure adrenaline. Something I experienced had triggered me & I felt it take over my body in panic. I wasn’t ready to sit & process it yet so I went out to tick a (clothing shopping) task off my list that would have me moving around & getting my fast paced “flight” energy out. When I got home & was ready to face what I’d experienced, it didn’t take long for me to collapse & start wailing 🤣 In both of these pics - I am struggling. This is your reminder that really, anybody around you could be struggling. ↠  Smiling people could be struggling. ↠  Caring people could be struggling. ↠  Party people could be struggling. ↠  Resilient people could be struggling. ↠  People who work at their dream job could be struggling. ↠  Mums, dads, teens, grandmas & grandpas, sisters, brothers, cousins, any of them could be struggling. Check on the people around you, listen intently & without judgement. Love them. Anxiety & other struggles don’t have a face 💜
I have found that humor...being silly, stupid, goofy, humorous,  and PUNny...lifts my spirits and the spirits of those around me.  I have walked in places so horribly dark and feared I'd never get out.  Wherever you are in your dark place, I've probably been there and can understand.  I attempted suicide for the first time in 1978; I was 7 years old.  My last attempt was in 2008, but there were lots of times I was ready, and more than a few attempt in between.  I am a survivor and can tell you that it does get better, though it may take time.  For my Senior project, I am studying suicide.  I'm looking at numbers of people impacted and how it's on the rise.  I hope to raise awareness but also bring hope to those in dark places.  If you've struggled with thoughts of suicide....attempted or not....I'd love to talk with you as part of this project. I'm going to try and avoid making a lengthy post about this but it is SUPER IMPORTANT. If you do not know how to offer decent advice to someone you care about that is suffering from mental health issues, please do NOT try to avoid all conversations about it altogether! This is not how you go about it. If you do not feel comfortable talking with someone about mental health, offer them phones numbers, website links or services local to them that CAN help them. OR GOOGLE is your best friend !! Google how to give better advice, what are some comforting things you can do for them etc. Lack of knowledge is only an excuse ONCE ☝🏽 LOOK OUT FOR YOUR MATES.
