If you have the self-belief, confidence and the perseverance, you really can go on to be a bad ass business owner. Have faith, have passion and above all, really, truly KNOW that you can. 💖🙌

When I headed back to real estate 3 years ago, I fully committed. I closed down my successful online businesses, walked away from a consulting gig and put all my chips on the table. I woke up every morning at 5am and sat in front of my computer alone. I researched, learned then applied everything I knew. Just like every other entrepreneur does. It’s a lonely road that is often walked early in the morning or late at night. I wasn’t surprised when it worked, because I knew what I knew. But it was a bit lonely, my ideas were hard for me to explain...even to myself, but I could see it, so I pursued it. ••• This week I sat at a dinner table with @michaelireese and @gogosrealestate and my mind blew when I realized they saw everything the same way I did! We swapped ideas and stories and shared our knowledge and I never would have guessed in a million years that that one little decision to pursue my idea would lead to all. of. this. #worklife ••• Also took 3 calls from agents interested in @exprealty_ and #closed on this house today. 😅 Popping on a flight home and I can’t wait to kiss my babies faces off...even the big ones.

Patina, that indescribable suggestion of unassuming, time tested, hard won beauty of age. . Venerable, solid, strength of character with no suggestion of pretension- Patina lends a multilayered, weathered dignity and fascinating history to almost anything worth having or worth knowing. Faded velvet, distressed leather, well worn denim, even gnarled but prolific fruit trees have a hard won beauty that’s at once distinguished though never haughty with a refined comfort and a certain sense of humor - To me that’s Patina! I’m glad to have come of age when the patina of vintage, a bit of peeling paint, a bit of tarnish or showing signs of wear and tear- is highly prized by interior decorators, fashion designers, artists and photographers who value age- often over sleek, shiny youth! I’ll admit I dreaded aging until I actually embraced the word Patina! Oxford Dictionary says ‘He wore the patina of old money and good breeding’ - I had to laugh, for that hardly describes me! Yet, it was the only sentence I found that used patina to describe a human being! May I make a suggestion to those of us who are embracing age as a time to treasure and value that we apply a measure of patina to ourselves? One of my favorite authors, Rosamunde Pilcher had a successful writing career- yet didn’t write a NY Times best seller until she was 64, I read about a very colorful artist named Ilona who is in her 90s is adorable and still going strong!Age truly is a number- and while there’s so much going for youth- there’s possibly even more to the patina of age! . Now, these folks may not even know they inspired this post- yet I’ve spoken to them around the edges about patina- Becky @shopteaandtable Lisa @lismorepaper Donna @curls_bishop My dear friend @roberts_and_roberts And to Lindsey @theeatingtree for suggesting we need to wear a bit of pink and that her silverware looks better with a bit of tarnish and shines with use! And there’s one more- I’ve been following
