The time has come. (*it is a long one...) 8.22.19 Dear Max, I have been sitting at this computer for several days not even knowing how to begin as every time I start typing, I start tearing up. You are starting middle school tomorrow and I cannot believe where the time has gone!!!! That is probably what saddens me the most. God blessed me with you 12 years ago and in a blink you are in middle school with only 6 short years of school left. I never want you to leave the nest, but I know I cannot hang on to you forever and you need to learn to fly on your own. I just hope that your dad and I have made the nest a place that you will always come back to. You are growing into a young man with so many great possibilities and it fills my heart so much! There are so many times over the years I just look at you and am so proud of who you are! However, if I am being honest, it also terrifies me all at the same time. Middle school can be an awesome place, but it also is one of the places that will change you the most. There will be things at work both inside of you and around you that are going to make the next few years exciting, interesting, but will also challenge you and your character. The road ahead is going to be strange and winding. Sometimes exhilarating, but other times you will be getting too close to the guard rails that are protecting you from going over or making a decision that could change who you are. I wish more than anything I could be with you in every situation to help you know what decision to make or what to do or say. But the reality of that is you would never let me (bahaha ) and even if you did, that is not possible, I need to let you start flying on your own. Remember though, that God can do that. You are filled with the Holy Spirit. He is with you always and you can lean on Him for advice and help with decisions anytime and anywhere. "I have filled him with the Spirit of God in wisdom, in understanding, in knowledge, and in all kinds of
Today’s gratefuls... 1. This sweet high chair that my Granny bought as my gift when I was pregnant with Emme. It is almost 17 years old now and all three of our girls have sat in it for many years. It has been in use for all but one year, so that’s a lot of tiny tushy sitting in this special chair. And I can’t wait for grand babies to sit in it one day❤️ 2. That He took care of us and our sweet Emme after a scare this morning. She could not catch her breath for about 2 hours, so we went to the doctor first thing this morning, praying the whole way. After X-ray and breathing test, which all looked good, they think it was stress. I’ve never had this happen to me or our girls and it was scary, praying for continued protection for our sweet girl❤️ 3. A Magpie and a Fia, playing a ukulele and singing Christmas songs. This scene made my heart so happy❤️ 4. A baby Grayson that adores Magpie, so we adore him. When I saw him perched on these baskets I noticed he looks like he is meant for our home🐱❤️ Going to bed with an extra grateful heart, would love to hear your gratefuls friends❤️❤️❤️
I’ve been missing this little cabin lately! (For those that are new here, this was our previous home) In fact, my insta handle used to be @belleberrycabin, but then it just didn’t fit anymore when we moved into our current (non cabin) house. 😜 Have you ever had a home that has stuck with you even though you’ve moved on? For me, this is it. It was cozy (read: small) but it had the most magnificent views of a lake and the Smoky Mountains. Life changed for us, and sadly a move was necessary, but this place will always have a piece of my heart! 💗
This girl knows a good thing when she sees it! I can’t wait to soak in this amazing tub 🛀 & listen to a good book (I’m an @audible junkie). Right now I’m listing to #simplytuesday by @emilypfreeman & LOVE it! Of course I’m a huge fan of her podcast & book #thenextrightthingpodcast so I knew I would! If you’ve never listened to it, I highly recommend checking it out. What are you reading/listening to right now & loving? What should I listen to next?
This is David. My wife didn’t think I had skills enough to take a photo for her Instagram. On top of that, it was taken with my iPhone. What do you think ladies? Should I join team Clover Lane? #killinit#nofilter
