- GRASSHOPPER - This drink always takes me back to my childhood summer afternoons. . Not that we were given alcoholic tipples when I was little 😂 . But we used to always have a bright green mint syrup in the fridge to make mint ice lollies, and we would mix that with cold milk and have ourselves a refreshing drink like that! . Do you also have a cocktail that brings you back somewhere? 👉Let me know which one in the comments! . This particular grasshopper was made swapping double cream for fatty coconut milk and it's unbelievably delicious and oh so desserty! . 🌿 25ml green creme de menthe 🍫 25ml white creme de cacao 🥥 50ml coconut milk (like the one that comes in cans from the Oriental section in supermarkets, not the ones from cartons which has a totally different texture ) . Shake it all up. It's as easy as that! Garnish with a cute mint tip. . Cheers, Lulu 🍸 . ☀️Follow @suitably_sloshed for more delicious and easy to make cocktail recipes!☀️ . . . . . . . . . . . #grasshopper#grasshoppercocktail#mintdrink#coconut#coconutcocktail#coconutdrink#classictwist#imbibe#drinkstagram#instadrink#homebartender#homebar#libation#craftcocktail#suitablysloshed#drinksblogger#cocktailphotography
Have you ever wondered how tea, originated from China, got into England? In 1600s, the Portuguese and Dutch traders started to import tea from China into Europe. In 1615, Thomas Garraway, a coffee house owner, started to sell tea to public in his establishment in London. His coffee house is actually one of the first establishment sold tea. The street it was located is called Exchange Alley. Within 50 years, over 500 coffee house in London sold tea. Shortly after, tea quickly took over gin and become the most popular drink in London. Fast forward to 1800 while tea kept its popularity, Anna Russell, 7th Duchess of Bedford started the trend of having afternoon tea. She found that a light meal of tea and sandwiches or cake can fill the gap between the lunch and fashionably late dinner, and Darjeeling tea was her favourite choice of tea. Because of her social status, afternoon tea became very popular among the royalties, and later, everyone in England. These are just a small part of the tea history and culture in England. Nowadays, London is such a huge cosmopolitan city that it homes over 300 nationalities and languages. With huge influence from others, London still able to maintain its unique tea. It’s such ability and unique culture of London fascinates me so much. All these history and culture of London give me the inspirations to create this cocktail.
