A mi me encantó. 4/5 ⭐ #aladdin#disney#aladdin2019#jessicakhoury#retelling#retellingtheoldstories#retellings#instagram#instalibros#bookstagram#bookstagramcommunity#bookstagramespaña#book#booksbooksbooks📚 #booksofinsta#booklover#literatura#booksphotography#booksland#bookishfeature#bookish#booksandflowers#septiembre#happyseptember#peliculas#booknerds
Happy Sunday, bookworms! ✨ What is your favourite relaxing activity to do? • For me, I just like to take things slow. Today, I’m hoping to have a hot shower, put on a face mask and paint my nails. I want to start a new show as well, so I might watch the new season of Peaky Blinders or start Euphoria! I’ve already done most of my homework for today but I hope I can also a get a little bit more done before I have dinner, and then I’ll probably read before bed. • #sepcovenprompts week 4: pretty cover
Flowers and more flowers and of course books🌹🌸 __________________________________ I only have 9 more books to go to complete my Goodreads goal, and The Astonishing Colour Of After is still on my TBR🌺 _________________________________ This book features some magical realism about a girl who believes her mother, after committing suicide, turns into a bird. Leigh follows this bird to Taiwan to meet her grandparents for the very first time. I have the slightest suspicion... That this will be a new favourite and a book to remember✨ __________________________________#books #bookstagrammer#booksandflowers#bookstagram#theastonishingcolorofafter

Is anyone else overwhelmed by the amount of new books being released this month? . I literally have 10 books on loan from the library right now. They all came in at once and now I have no clue how I am going to read them all 🤷♀️ . One of the books I have on loan from the library is Permanent Record by Mary H. K. Choi. I read Mary's book Emergency Contact last year when it came out and really enjoyed it. So I new I had to read her new book when it came out! It is definitely high on my list of books to read. . Emergency Contact - ⭐⭐⭐⭐ ..................................................... Book Summary: "For Penny Lee high school was a total nonevent. Her friends were okay, her grades were fine, and while she somehow managed to land a boyfriend, he doesn’t actually know anything about her. When Penny heads to college in Austin, Texas, to learn how to become a writer, it’s seventy-nine miles and a zillion light years away from everything she can’t wait to leave behind. Sam’s stuck. Literally, figuratively, emotionally, financially. He works at a café and sleeps there too, on a mattress on the floor of an empty storage room upstairs. He knows that this is the god-awful chapter of his life that will serve as inspiration for when he’s a famous movie director but right this second the seventeen bucks in his checking account and his dying laptop are really testing him. When Sam and Penny cross paths it’s less meet-cute and more a collision of unbearable awkwardness. Still, they swap numbers and stay in touch—via text—and soon become digitally inseparable, sharing their deepest anxieties and secret dreams without the humiliating weirdness of having to see each other." . . . . . #bookstagram#bibliophile#booklove#bookworm#reader#bookporn#bookphoto#ireadya#bookishlove#bookblogger#coverlove#lovebooks#bookobsessed#yabooks#newbookstagram#booknerd#emergencycontact#maryhkchoi#booksandflowers#simonteen
What does reading mean to you? For me, self-care is incomplete without mentioning reading as a part of it. I fail to remember how old I was when I took a liking to books, maybe 4 or 5? I was lucky to start early because of my mom, but I am a firm believer of the idea that if you don't like books, you probably haven't read a good one yet. I've had anxiety issues for some time now. I will not be discussing the symptoms here because that can be misleading but my friends and my family have helped me learn to function with it. As a part of my fight against it, I learnt to use something known as "grounding techniques" which make you take notice of your surroundings so you can feel normal during an anxious phase or a panic attack. The easiest grounding technique is to focus on the contact between your feet and the ground beneath them and it worked for me every time. Books have kept me company during such phases, as well. Whenever I opened a book that I had been reading, irrespective of wherever I was, I used to feel slightly better. It used to take my mind off anxiety-inducing stuff. So today for #selfcaresunday , I sat with a book, lit my favourite scented candle and let my worries drown themselves into the depths of my mind. Of course, they tried to surface again with all their might, but l was stronger. :)
Hello lovely people! I hope you are all doing well 💙 I picked up this book from the library a couple of weeks ago and am more than halfway through it at the moment. I really enjoyed The Time Traveller’s Wife by the same author when I read it several years ago so I was keen to read something else that she’s written. So far though, I have to say I’m quite... underwhelmed by it. I wouldn’t say that I dislike it but I don’t feel attached to any of the characters and the paranormal aspect of the book just seems awkwardly handled and unintentionally comical at times 😅 I’ll definitely continue with it though, if only to find out whether it all ties together at the end but my expectations have been significantly lowered at this point 🙈 ‼️ Have you ever read and enjoyed a book by a particular author and then been underwhelmed by another book they’ve written? #unitedbookstagram#bookstagram#bookworm#bookdragon#booknerd#naazreads#herfearfulsymmetry#audreyniffenegger#currentread#booksandflowers#bookstaplants#currentlyreading
