It doesn't work 🙅‍♀️ . If our motivation for putting on our running shoes is to lose weight we end up putting ourselves through unenjoyable activity, disliking "exercise" and giving up. . Movement has so many benefits not related to weight or calorie burning. There's many health benefits with no relation to weight at all 😊 . 💪Move because it feels good, it's fun, its social, we feel happier, stronger, think clearer and anything you feel after exercising 😍 . Find an activity you enjoy, tune out calories or weight thoughts and enjoy it! 💕
I just finished watching an incredibly important #documentary called "Embrace". For those of you, who haven't heard about it: Taryn Brumfitt is telling a story that started with herself. How she hated her #body that was all curvy and not at all what would be described as the "perfect body image". After giving birth to three adorable children, Taryn even considered plastic surgery to get the body that she supposedly needed to be happy. Her message? It's simple and yet so hard to be digested and understood by women all over the world: You are unique! Your body is just imperfectly perfect the way it is. No matter, if you're skinny, a little more curvy or #overweight. Don't let society tell you how you should feel about yourself just because of the numbers on your body scale or the size of clothes you're wearing! I don't want to be role model for all those little #girls and #daughters out there, telling them that those women on the #magazines are what a healthy woman should look like. In fact, most of those models aren't healthy at all!! So, dear ladies, PLEASE, do me, you and all the girls out there a favor and start loving your body the way it is. Treat it well and embrace every part of it. #tbt to my 3rd season of outdoor track sophomore year of college.  At the time of this photo, I remember seeing the body types of runners like Kara, Shalane and Deena and wondering if that was what I needed to look like in order to maximize my performance. But then I found photos of them at 20.  So to any college or high school athletes who have looked at photos of me at my fittest and wondered if they needed to look like that in order to run faster, here’s what I looked like when I was 20.  If you trust and follow appropriate training and fuel your body to complete your workouts and runs to your best, your body is already its current best version. Trying to force your body into someone else’s shape (especially a much more experienced and advanced athlete) always backfires. #risk  I am posting this today as a proof of inspiration. A couple of my clients shared with me their self-described bold moves for themselves -purchasing and wearing high waisted 2 piece bathing suits despite body image challenges and weight concerns. Such big moves for them - really tapping into vulnerability and bravery, and embracing acceptance and self love.  I was and inspired - as I so often am by the folks with whom I work.  I don’t think I’ve worn a bikini since I was 10. Like so many of us, I’ve struggled with my own body image issues and weight concerns. Thankfully, I’m in a good place on both of those counts - and as anyone who has struggle with these two knows - not easy to do. So, I thought, what the hell - why not?  It’s hard to do a selfie that takes in a realistic image so I opted for a non-full body shot to try to capture reality. But is you look to the bottom of the frame, you see skin below the top. I did it - and went to the beach in a high waisted 2 piece. [Repas du soir]  Avant, je croyais que si je mangeais après 19h00 c’était pas bien. Ça allait me faire grossir, tout allait se stocker, blablabla. 😐Tu vois ce que je veux dire.  Alors tu penses bien que quand on était invité à manger chez des amis ou la famille APRÈS 19h00 j’étais pas sereine mais alors pas du tout🙁 . Le truc c’est qu’il m’a fallu du temps pour comprendre et « croire » que c’était pas le cas😐 . 🤷🏻‍♀️Que je mange mon sandwich, mon steak ou mon poulet curry à 16h, 18h ou 20h ce sera pareil. Ces plats auront les mêmes calories, les mêmes nutriments. . 🙏Ce qui compte, c’est de s’écouter. De manger lorsqu’on a faim (dans la mesure du possible hein je sais que les horaires de travail ne permettent pas toujours ça) et de s’arrêter lorsqu’on est rassasiée. Com o avanço da tecnologia, hoje vivemos num mar de truques, apps e filtros que permitem que a gente tire, coloque, aumente, diminua, e por aí vai… Sempre penso sobre isso e, acredito que por tal facilidade, ficamos mal acostumados (🎶vc me deixoooouu🎶😂😂). Brincadeiras a parte, a impressão é que agora SEMPRE vemos defeitos (por menores que sejam) em tudo, e TUDO precisa de um truque, um app ou um filtro. A mancha, a curva no quadril, o tamanho dos olhos... Mas afinal será que a ideia de que o nosso corpo é uma "massinha de modelar" é saudável?🙄🤔 A única coisa que me vem à cabeça é: um ciclo de insatisfação constante. Será que existe cirurgia que será suficiente para tamanha insatisfação? Ou o melhor caminho é a gente trabalhar mais o autocuidado, autoconhecimento, a autoestima, autoconfiança, para acharmos o equilíbrio da melhor versão de nós mesmos? They’re seriously not 🙂💫⁣ Different genetics mean different body shapes and sizes, and there is seriously no need to fight what you were given. ⁣ ⁣ Being thin is a goal a lottt of people have, but it’s really not a realistic one if you’re not built that way 🤷🏼‍♀️⁣ Different bodies hold fat differently and it’s honestly not a bad thing if you don’t fit into the ‘ideal’ small/skinny/fat free/toned category. Just like it’s also okay if you naturally do. ⁣ However you come is okay and beautiful and I just really think more people need to know that healthy truly does look different on every body 💓🌸
