Practicing my flourishes. Thought the letter A would be a good place to start 😁 The first one is hand-lettered with a white gel pen, after that I used a small brush pen and then a large brush pen. I've not been very well for the past few months, so I've hardly done any art or lettering at all. This was done on my over-the-bed desk. My hands were a bit shaky on the up-strokes and my hand got tired quite quickly, but I'm still pleased with how they turned out. Do you like these types of videos? Would you like to see more of my work in progress videos? Let me know in the comments below. I know I need to sort out some better lighting for this desk... My hand is making a horrible shadow 😅 The next one will be better. --------------------🌼-------------------- ChronicallyHopeful.com #chronicallyhopefulart#drawing @Uniball_UK #lettering#brushlettering#handlettering @Tombow_UK @PentelUK #arttherapy#artastherapy#craftinginbed#meartist#chronicillnesswarrior

R E S I L I E N T. A F. ☁ WHAT REMINDS YOU OF YOUR RESILIENCE? ☁ ☁ ☁ ☁ Those who know me well also know that I've been facing a bunch of tough shit since the beginning of retrograde. I mean, I'm not even a huge believer in that stuff but I got hit with an existential clusterfuck july 1st and it lasted the entire month. I'm also very lucky that my 10 month contract position provided both a natural break from work and that I extended my pay so I could get by. So I took the time to feel it all. These were things I thought I was over but a much deeper level of this same crap was uncovered, and some new shit was thrown on top of it. It suuuucked. The positive side of it was I MANAGED. Not only for that one really tough thing that would have easily crushed me in my 20s, but the couple other things I had to face, accept and move forward on. I can only attribute getting THROUGH it because I exhausted the coping skills I've learned over the past 10 years of consistent work. I talked to soooo many people so I wouldn't worry about burdening one person shutting down altogether. I sent out a lot more invitations and said "yes" to more opportunities than I would have liked (introvert) just so I would get out of my apartment and out of my head and to decrease the likelihood of depression from processing past emotions. ☁ ☁ ☁ ☁ I was drawn to the idea of doing my line work on black paper, and I really enjoyed this experiment. This process encouraged a new style to be revealed, and it resonates with a fresh direction. The use of black paper and white pen is a reminder of resilience as it evokes that process of hitting rock bottom to pick up the pieces, or more literally moving from the dark to the light. That point when you feel like it can't get any worse, you don't want to live life this way anymore and there is only one way left - up/out/forward. It wouldn't have happened if I hadn't waded in my shit and used what I've learned over time. I have been given a
I'm very honored and excited to be participating in this project! ___ The Co Lab project was created in 2015 to bring together artists from all walks of life, whose paths may have never crossed in ordinary circumstances. Co Lab coordinator Chloe Russell pairs participating artists together to create a collaborative piece. This exercise in radical inclusion creates opportunities for community connection, professional networking, and new friendships. Artists of all abilities and skill levels are invited to participate. In the upcoming exhibition, opening at The Show Gallery on the evening of Saturday, September 7th from 5-8pm, 21 pairs of artists will display their new work. Co Lab is sponsored by Wet Paint Art Supplies, Lieberman Companies, Master Framers, MSS, and The Show Nonprofit to provide supplies, framing materials and services, and monetary support to make this project possible. . . . . #mnartist#minnesotaartist#supportlocalartists#supportlivingartists#artastherapy#artmakesmehappy
