Going to miss following this girl around but am so excited to run into the arms of my love. It’s been since Aug 5th since I last saw him. Hopefully next time I’m in Sweden he is with me. @oliverklotzek
Arctic circle trail day 5: ikkattooq to eqalugaarniarfik. Today we had a river crossing and luckily, our only rainy day on the trail. Thanks to the two czech guys who woke @katiehu1982 and I to see the #northernlights#arcticcircletrail#hiking#greenland
Who wishes their #weekendings were as epic as @emhartova’s on the #arcticcircletrail 🙌🏼 Lovers of remote wilderness refuges should check out this month’s #adventurousink the fabulous Outpost from the intrepid pen of @dan_zep 🙏🏼
The autumn has reached Saarikoski. A small village located exactly on the border between Sweden and Finland. On the Swedish side you can find only two people living there - an old hunter with his wife, who also own some nice cabins available for rent. On the Finnish side there are a few houses as well, nevertheless the overall population still remains small. > Hiking around the area at this time of year is truly breathtaking. The change of colours can be seen everywhere around - in the forests with dazzling yellow trees; on the gentle hills with lingonberries and blueberries, which already seem to have started to get ready for the winter; and in the mires, where dwarf birches have dyed their leaves striking crimson red.
Kangerlussuaq is where I started and ended my time in Greenland. An old US air base, it’s made up of Greenland’s largest airport and a huddle of other buildings. The air smells of jet fuel, and ground is dust. It feels kinda lonely, but the views are hella good.
