🥃 "Drink until you see the cross," is a popular saying in Oaxaca translated from "Hasta que veas la cruz." Did you notice that some of our copitas (small glasses) have a cross on the bottom? Centuries ago, they were originally used as prayer candles. Now it is the traditional glass to drink mezcal in Oaxaca because it allows the aroma to hit your nose before you taste it.
