"You get to the top of a wall, there's nothing up there. Lionel Terray, the great French climber called it 'The conquistadors of the useless.' Yeah, the end result is absolutely useless, but every time I travel, I learn something new and hopefully I get to be a better person." – Yvon Chouinard, 180 Degrees South I feel this pretty strongly. I’ve met plenty of people who disliked true traveling and who don’t exactly understand the point of it—which is okay. We as human beings love comfort. We love our phones, to be able to use a proper toilet, we love our familiar homes and air conditioning and showers. I very much do too. But I also know that I am extremely privileged to get to experience those things regularly. Being out in the middle of no where with no cell service helps me remove myself from my comforts and also teaches me to really appreciate my own company, the company of my loved ones without distraction, and find “entertainment” in the colors of the sky or the way the light hits a mountains peak. It helps me reconnect to what matters, and I’m able to come back into the “real world” with a better sense of what’s truly important. 🧡
“The best journeys answer questions that in the beginning you didn’t even think to ask.” - #jeffjohnson 🏜 Taking a journey is so much prettier with a beautiful lantern to light your path! 🕯 One of several beautiful diffusers Young Living has to choose from! Do you have a favorite diffuser?
Yvon Chouinard nailing it on mailing it in on #everest — or anywhere you can’t handle on your own — from #180degreessouth. Must watch. Goes beyond mountaineering to humanity, humility, hubris, wisdom, survival, conservation, and a civilization at a crossroads.
my first sticker design, thanks for the push @drewmaddeart 🥐🌎🥬 “Maybe the answer lies in turning around 180 degrees and taking a forward step”-Doug Tompkins. I love this idea of progress, which way do we go?
