This is what’s happening at the craft club this morning. It’s been our annual general meeting today so only an hour left to do anything crafty. It’s suddenly got all productive in this joint.
My very last elephant is done โœ…. As much as I love drawing elephants, this will be the last one for a while. Unless of course my next job involves them. ๐Ÿ˜ Realised that this one fits the #bamiyanblue colour for #colour_collective this week after I posted it so instead of posting it again, I have edited this one to fit.
Well it’s Sunday and I have remembered my 3 good things post before midnight ๐ŸŽ‰. Surely that can be one of them ๐Ÿ˜‚? Feel free to join in so you can look back on the good things when you’re feeling down in the dumps. Remember the hashtags so I can see them. #slinkeee3goodthings #slinkeeetop3 #slinkeee3 It’s been a pretty uneventful week so thinking of three things is tricky this week as I’ve been keeping my head down and my arse up so to speak. But here goes. My 3 good things are: 1 The football season has started (Newcastle lost โ˜น๏ธ) which means I have my ‘work related Sundays’ back. Today I have delved into one of the many books I’ve recently bought and only managed to flick through about character design. I actually managed to read the whole thing in one sitting. All 102 pages of it. 2 I got another repeat Etsy order which was nice and totally unexpected as I never really promote my Etsy shop (which I definitely should). *Sticks it on the ever increasing ‘to do’ list.* 3 After having things planned for every weekend over the last few months, we had a totally chilled feet up, TV on, takeaway ordered, wine poured kind of rainy weekend. Perfect (but feel free to stop raining now โ˜”๏ธ).
Some more dog tags from my Etsy shop arriving at their destination today. I hope the little doggies @runrestretreat like them tied to their treats. Woof! ๐Ÿพ ๐Ÿ• ๐Ÿถ
Still working through my stash of elephant pencils. Here’s another one for #colour_collective wearing a giraffe print dress with tiny #butter hearts. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿฆ’ ๐Ÿ’›
Oh, wonderful ๐Ÿ™„.
If you can be anything, be kind. After a false start and stitching the bare wood (because I love wood), I decided to paint it white and add a Pride inspired rainbow. ๐ŸŒˆMuch prettier I think.
Happy #sbs Winners Birthday/Anniversary to me! It’s 7 years ago today since I won an #sbs award from Theo Paphitis (of Dragon’s Den fame). I still haven’t managed to pick my award up in Birmingham and have my photo taken with him โ˜น๏ธ. Maybe next year is the year.
Well once again I’m a day late for my 3 good things post. Last week was a mixed bag of emotions as we also said goodbye to a lovely lady. If you’d like to join in, I usually post on a Sunday 3 good things that happened in the previous week so when you’re having a rubbish day, you can look back and see that things aren’t really that bad. Use the hashtags so I can see them. #slinkeee3goodthings #slinkeeetop3 #slinkeee3 My 3 good things are: 1 It was my birthday which I spent at the craft club before coming back to work, going out for food and then to the cinema to see Rocketman. 2 After an emotional Friday, my bf bought us sold out tickets to Into The Fields which was just what I needed. Who doesn’t want to stand in a field with other music fans and drink beer? Oh, and this happened. Bez from the Happy Monday’s got all up in my face ๐Ÿคฃ. 3 I got tickets for Hogmanay to see Mark Ronson in the enclosure at Princes Street Gardens.
My #colour_collective contribution today using #dovegrey was a spec piece for a publishing company. I didn’t get the job but I wised up to being used for ‘spec work’ so not all bad.
Well I’ve had one week out from this out of respect but I’m now a day late for my 3 good things post after completely forgetting about it. Come on, it’s only my third post. It’s not a habit yet ๐Ÿ˜‚. Feel free to join in but remember the hashtags so I can find you. #slinkeee3goodthings #slinkeeetop3 #slinkeee3 My 3 good things are: 1 I had an unexpected lunch and couple of hours in a beer garden (unfortunately without beer as I had to go back to work and I had the car but still, it was nice). 2 My self assessment tax return is done apart from hitting the submit button. 3 I spent the whole weekend at the beach. Two different ones. One was on the chilly side but beautiful and the other was having a Life Boat Day for the #rnli. I love the beach rain or shine.
A really old one for #colour_collective this week but it was too perfect to pass up for #magenta.
No 3 good things post this week out of respect for a friend who has had the worst week ever. This gloomy sky says it all. Back to normal next week. ๐ŸŒˆ
A quick little clover pattern for #colour_collective using #clovergreen. After a week of paperwork it was nice to do something arty even if it was a rush. ๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ’•โ˜˜๏ธ
My new Sunday thing is to reflect on the previous week and choose 3 good things. This week has been quite a sociable one which is rare when you’re freelance and working on your own all the time. Feel free to join in with your top 3 and remember the hashtags so I can see them. #slinkeee3goodthings #slinkeeetop3 #slinkeee3 My 3 good things are: 1 I had lunch with my friend Angela this week (we both hate selfies so this is the only one I was allowed to post ๐Ÿ˜‚) 2 I had a rare night out with the girls when one of them came down from Scotland for the week, 2 of the girls are in the second photo with me. 3 I got completely sucked into the ladies and men’s finals of Wimbledon. The men’s final today was so exciting. Unfortunately I was backing Federer because I mean, look at him ๐Ÿ˜๐ŸŽพ. What a brilliant 5 hours though.
Another elephant friend for #colour_collective using #limpetshell. I also created a lemon pattern for her dress as she was looking a bit well, boring. Now she just looks a bit crazy but hey, all the best people/elephants are. ๐Ÿ‹๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿคช
I was over the moon to find this little gem in a charity shop last week. Eww, it’s gross I hear you cry ๐Ÿคฎ. Yes, I totally agree, but my Grandad had the dinner service of this when I was a kid. Every time I go into a charity shop, I look for a random bowl or something just so I have a reminder before these all end up in landfill. My Grandad wasn’t into hunting or anything (thank goodness). I think it was just a seventies thing where lots of people had this particular dinner service. My new ugly jug is so much better than a bowl and means I don’t have to go thirsty at my desk any more. Do you have anything gross just because it reminds you of someone or a place or time in your life? FYI, I love my ugly jug. ๐Ÿด
Every Sunday I’m going to reflect on the previous week and choose 3 good things. These can be work related or just things that made me smile during that particular week. That way, even if you’ve had a crappy week, you have things to look back on to make you think that life isn’t too bad after all ๐Ÿ˜Š. Please feel free to join in. The more the merrier. I haven’t decided on one particular hashtag yet so I’m using 3 to see which works best. #slinkeee3goodthings #slinkeeetop3 #slinkeee3 My 3 good things are: 1 I climbed Roseberry Topping on a whim and also on one of the hottest days of the year so far. โ˜€๏ธ 2 I discovered a place in Seaham that does jerk chicken ๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ฒ 3 I did a new illustration for #colour_collective and even forced myself out of my comfort zone with a little work in progress video.
