Krobo is SHINING oh YES !!! So thankful to have been able to return to this amazing place. The love and kindness all the people possess is heartwarming, I couldn’t thank them enough for everything they’ve taught me💓
Outside of the classroom, I had the pleasure of meeting these trouble makers. Some were already in the primary school, so I saw them twice a day. Others, the park was my only time to get attached. The different personalities you meet and the ways they interact with you always made my day. My favorite big personalities were Princesses (1st photo), Christabel (2nd photo), and Gifty (3rd photo). Joking with them everyday and making that bond made it really hard to say goodbye. So instead of goodbyes, we said “see you later” (since i want to go back to Krobo). #glaghana#ellatoafrica @glateens
not even sure if i can describe how amazing the past few weeks have been. i got to experience a welcoming and kind culture, and see the pure joy that the people of krobo exhibit. i have so much love and appreciation for everyone i met, from the beautiful kids in the 5th grade class i taught, to the welcoming people in the village. i learned so much from these children, and i know i will forever carry their knowledge with me. i have a better understanding of the importance of kindness and compassion, and the value of always knowing your worth. the people here had such a huge impact on my life, and i can’t wait to come back!
Thank you. Thank you to every welcoming person who waved back in the streets. Thank you to every amazing person who became my family after this trip. Thank you to the schools for welcoming us with open arms so that we could make an impact on a kids life and so they could make one on ours. Thank you to my mentors who shaped me into a better leader. And thank you to every person that supported me every step through it. I couldn’t have become a better global cities izen without all of you. #ellatoafrica#glaghana @glateens
The whole idea of my trip was to try and make an impact on these kids lives, but they ended up changing mine. They helped me grow as a teacher and a person. I have the pleasure of calling them my first class. When you think about 5th grade, creativity is what comes to mind. Creativity was our whole class. We mixed conjunctions and prepositions to make songs and then created some amazing tunes for comparison of adjectives. Because of them, I know how to work on my toes and they definitely helped me out most of the way. Hopefully one day I will be able to see them reach the goals they set and grow as they do it (swipe the whole way to see our awesome jam) #glaghana#ellatoafrica @glateens
