How many of you out there miss school like me? I took these photos during a stroll around the USC campus and it took me back to college. I’m ten years out and two degrees in since undergrad. #old I wish I knew more of what I know now about life and career expectations then. I did do one thing right, however, and that was gaining real-world experiences. I recommend this to every high school and college student I come across. Go do ACTUAL work. Employers won’t care so much about the school you graduated from or the GPA you accomplished if you didn’t physically do something within your chosen field. Experience is actually outrunning education in terms of job acquisition. So, get involved by volunteering, finding a part-time gig, or (the best one) doing an internship. Get the hands-on experience. Even if it’s the bottom of the barrel work. I mean, I agreed to clean monkey cages in college so I could get experience working in an animal behavior training facility. You won’t make it after you gain that degree and those grades if you didn’t take the time to forge some work ethic.
I had an awesome weekend helping Audrey move back to USC for year two. We’ve had the best summer with her home and we will really miss her but she’s going to have a great school year. I ❤️ you @audreylgeis !!! Fight On ✌🏼
