I’ve recently started to journal as a tip from a friend and boy do I have a like/dislike relationship with it. With words coming out like vomit and lot of negativity in tangled in between the sheets, I get upset. Upset at the negativity. Upset at my feelings. Wishing I could feel differently. Longing to feel different. Longing to be off the rollercoaster and out of this spiritual funk. Anyone else feeling this with me? 🙋♀️ I look at all that we have in life and think we should be so grateful. Yet here I am in this. In the madness I’m writing down on paper. I remind myself, feelings buried alive do not die and I keep going to get them out. Feeling all the madness and sadness of the 10 scars to my belly. The belly that isn’t growing right now. That isn’t 8 months pregnant with our second child Samuel, or almost 9 weeks with our third child Wells. The belly that is jealous. But I keep writing. I keep thinking. I keep getting up each day. I keep praying. I keep singing. I keep trying. I keep feeling. And most importantly I keep looking for truth. His truth and what He says about me. Not what Satin and his jealousy says about me. I have learned that even though there can be reason to feelings, sometimes there isn’t truth to them. So it’s His truth I look for and recognize. The truth that I am loved. That He does hear me. That I am worthy. I am precious. And the truth that our babies are more alive then ever in the arms of Jesus. If it weren’t for writing and this journey, I don’t think I would have recognized this. That I need to feel to heal. But even more importantly I need to hear truth. So I share this with you in case you are also caught in a spiritual funk right now too. I pray you hear what is of His truth. You are loved and He hears your cry. Intermittent Fasting- Does it work, or not? . . Intermittent Fasting is one of the trendiest diet approaches out there today! Intermittent Fasting is going for an extended period of time, with 0 calorie consumption. You are then given a period, for calorie consumption. Intermittent Fasting is popular. It also has extreme claims, in the weight room, and even the bedroom. That's why this post will likely cause some debates. I have turned to Harvard University research, to discuss in this post. . . My view on intermittent fasting, is you should only do it, if it works for you, and your lifestyle. However, if you are miserable 75% of the time, you probably should not follow a fasting diet! . . First, lets look at the recent study. Harvard found that there is no confirmed benefit to intermittent fasting, other than for controlling diabetes. The study stated Intermittent Fasting, in combination with a healthy diet, and exercise, can contribute to weight loss. However, we all know the only true way to lose weight/fat, is to burn more calories, than you consume. So, of course you will see results, combining all of these factors. . . Intermittent fasting may work for some people, but not for me. Personally, I like to eat, when I'm hungry. I feel this controls the amount of food you eat, whenever you are able to finally eat. While Intermittent Fasting, you are restricted from eating foods, during 2/3 of your day. This is extremely hard to maintain, and often leads to overeating, when you are able to access food. . . In my opinion, the only way an intermittent fasting diet works, is because you have restricted the allotted time, to consume your calories. It is much harder to consume your daily calories, in an 8 hour window, than spread over the length of the entire day! This creates a calorie deficit!......Which leads to weight loss! . . 𝙇𝙚𝙩'𝙨 𝙩𝙖𝙡𝙠 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙨𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙙 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙨. A few years ago, I went to a cycle studio here in town and had a heinous experience. There's no sugarcoating it, it was unpleasant. So unpleasant that I didn't go back. For years. Recently, someone invited me to join them for class. Because I 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 being on a bike so much - cycling was the first format I taught, along with Turbo and I found my way to Soul Cycle in the cities that have studios because I love it so much. I decided to give this local studio another try. A second chance. Because of that second chance, I'm now auditioning to teach cycle at a new studio in town - an opportunity that wouldn't have happened without some grace and a second chance. We all do and say dumb stuff yes? We all do and say hurtful stuff. We make decisions we wish we could change. We don't match what's in our HEARTS to what's in our ACTIONS. Because we are all HUMAN. And we all need second chances. Maybe you tried "working out at home" a few years ago...and fell off track. Maybe you tried Shakeology a few years ago...and didn't find your recipe. Maybe you tried the coaching opportunity a few years ago...and didn't see the potential. Maybe you tried a challenge group a few years ago...and didn't find your tribe. Maybe life is different now. Maybe YOU are different now. And maybe it's time for a second chance. Because I know this for sure : life's too short to wonder and wait and wish. We've all benefitted from somebody giving US a second chance sometime in our life. Maybe it's time to give that grace to someone else, to someTHING else, and give it another go. Good morning farmhouse! Someone recently said to me “I’m so over the farmhouse trend”. I get it, it’s not for everyone, and I’m glad it isn’t! But for me, it isn’t a trend. It’s my home, my style, I do like lots of styles, but I had to pick a favorite, and this is it for me. We aren’t ever breaking up ❤️☺️
Well once again, I took a trip and didn’t document much of it. I take pictures here and there and just don’t share. Not everything needs to make social media. Turns out I love solo road trips. 💁🏻♀️ Aside from a trip to Georgia in my future, California again and more Indiana trips, I’m planning another Charleston road trip as well. 2020 will be the year I pursue my crazy ideas. Lots of which are unconventional I guess, but I get one life and I’m not going to let it be ordinary and I don’t want “mundane” to be a word that can describe it... all the time. 🤷🏻♀️ I have to take advantage of the fact I have no one to answer to (for now), no kids, no pets... it’s honestly a bit empty haha but I have freedom, so I’m filling it with things that bring me joy. I’ve made peace with the lack of things that I used to think would be in my life now. It is what it is and it’s okay so I’m choosing to fill voids with experiences and it’s going to be beautiful in its own way. Xo

🥕wingin it! . . If you’re anything like me.. a lot of your meals are made up on the spot just using what you’ve got right? Well the other night this delicious dish was conceived by the random contents of the fridge 🍤🥕🌶and lemme say it turned out to be pretty freaking tasty! . 🧐Think Pad Thai..but with carrot noodles instead! . 💭If you want to recreate here are some quick tips! . 1️⃣Pick a veggie or your choice and shred with a potato peeler. Carrots are easy, but you can also use zucchini’s, cucumbers, raw sweet potato, bell peppers, etc. Whatever you’ve got leftover! . 2️⃣Choose a protein such as tofu, shrimp, chicken, etc. to give additional calories, protein, and bulk to the dish. I don’t normally do seafood, but I had shrimp in the freezer so that’s what I chose🤷🏼♀️ . 3️⃣Create the sauce. That’s right....you heard me. YOU make the sauce🤪 Keep it simple by starting out with half peanut butter and half teriyaki sauce. Maybe a spoonful or 2 of each. Mix well. You can then add a healthy oil such as olive or avocado oil to thin out the dressing. Then feel free to add in sea salt, pepper, garlic powder, red pepper flakes, etc. to taste. . 4️⃣Place all ingredients in a large mixing bowl and stir until noodles and protein are covered well in the sauce. . 5️⃣and BOOM!! You’ve got a healthy, delicious meal that you’re going to want to eat a million servings of 💛
