Never let the opinions of others determine what you'll achieve in life. Growing up I was often told many of my goals were unrealistic or that my aspirations were too high for someone with a disability. When I was younger, I told myself one day I would be able to walk without any aids or orthotics. This was a lofty goal considering I used walking aids my entire life and was wheelchair-bound at several points in my life. Many people told me walking without aids wasn't a possibility and I should be more realistic with my expectations. I always knew the reality of my situation, but I didn't let it deter me from setting and working toward my goals. Just over three years ago, achieved my goal. It was a long road which included several surgeries and countless hours of physiotherapy. Even though I had my moments of self-doubt and encountered several setbacks along the way I never gave up and that's what counts. Whatever you want to accomplish It’s possible if your willing to put it the work. Don't let other people place limits on your life. Only your efforts and ambitions can determine how far you'll go. Everything worth having takes time and effort so be patient, work hard every day and never give up. #nolimits#nevergiveup#cerebralpalsy#progress#humblebeginnings#noexcuses#hardwork
What would you want for your BIRTHDAY? I always ask for a clean house but NEVER actually get it! It's like they think I am joking.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 So today with the help of my kids (and many of there friends) and more hours than I expected it to take. I got a simple one day kitchen Reno. A working TV in my kitchen with Youtube and Netflix's connection. And all for the price of 2 lasagnas , full tray of chicken legs, salad and a loaf of fresh bread. 🤗🤗🤗🤗🎂🎂🎂🎂🤗🤗🤗🤗
We have accomplished absolutely nothing around our house the last few weeks that Brandon has been off work. We put so much pressure on ourselves by making this long list of things "to do", that we just ended up doing nothing. That being said, it honestly has felt good to just relax and spend time together. Going for walks, watching trash tv and Netflix series (brandon is now addicted to gossip girl), spent way too much money on fast food and quick dinners, and of course letting the kids stay up late for fires. The list can wait and always be done during the long dreary winter. Summer is about making memories and we have been so good at that this year! 🧡

Goals and Dreams to you have any? Do you have them written down? I have recently learned that a goal or a dream that is not written down with a completion date is just a wish. Brendon Burchard has a great podcast on this topic I shared it on my stories, check it out at the #thebrendonshow, episode Best of: Practices of Achievement, it aired on July 24. If you are looking to change any aspect of your life you need to check out Brendon's work at https://brendon.com/books/ Make it a great day.
#motivationmonday – Striving for Progress⠀ ⠀ For most of my life I have struggled with perfectionism and this need for control. Because of this, I find it difficult to let go and take risks at time. This is something I am constantly working on and something that I know a lot of people struggle with too. ⠀ ⠀ Are you playing it safe in fear of failing? ⠀ Are you delaying the launch of your new business because “it’s not perfect yet”?⠀ Are you avoiding trying a new class because you don’t want to suck at it? ⠀ The list goes on… ⠀ ⠀ …but what really matters is acknowledging that this a problem that you struggle with. If you understand that this is a problem in your life, you can work to move past it. But, if you stay in denial, and are not willing to change, you will NEVER change. ⠀ ⠀ So, how can you fix this? Well, it is not easy, and there really is no “fix”, but with hard work you can definitely improve. ⠀ ⠀ 1. Replace Perfection for Progress – Throw out the idea that perfection is the dream result. Instead strive for progress. ⠀ 2. Reflect on the past – Throughout this journey it is important to reflect. Start by asking yourself, where this perfectionistic tendencies stem from? Why do you experience them? When do you find yourself under the most pressure to be perfect? Are there people or scenarios triggering you? ⠀ 3. Track and reflect again – Once the initial reflection is done, track how you are doing and if you can spot when you become triggered to be perfect. From there, reflect again and see how you can change these tendencies. ⠀ ⠀ I know this is not a final fix, but these are some simple tips that I think can help you deal with perfectionism. Let me know your thoughts in the comments below, and if you would like a whole blog post dedicated to this topic?
