*REPOST* ⠀ Cori ‘Coco’ Gauff ⠀ In 2019, 15 year old Coco Gauff made history by becoming the youngest player to ever qualify for Wimbledon. ⠀ As if that wasn’t enough pressure, Coco’s debut match was against none other than 7 time grand slam champion and her hero, Venus Williams. ⠀ It seemed as if the odds were against Coco and Her Wimbledon dream was going to be short lived, due to her age and lack of experience in comparison to Venus, who’s been in the game for nearly 2 decades. ⠀ But odds are there to be beaten. ⠀ Coco not only made history by even appearing in Wimbledon, but she went onto beat Venus Williams in her debut match, shocking the world and instantly making a name for herself from the get go. ⠀ Coco continued to beat the odds and proved to everyone that she was not a one match wonder, when she beat former semi-finalist Magdalena Rybarikova with another straight set win in her second round match. ⠀ All the attention surrounding Coco lead to her third round match being held in the centre court, against Polona Hercog. ⠀ Coco had to pull out everything she had in order to make a comeback and defeat Polona, proving to everyone that even at the age of 15, she had the maturity of a player that looks as though has been in the game for years. ⠀ Sadly, Cocos fairy tale came to an end when she was defeated by Women’s number 1 Simona Halep, who went on to win the tournament. ⠀ Although her fairy tale in Wimbledon came to an end, Coco is just getting started and it looks as though she is going to take over sooner than later, and dominate the game in years to come. ⠀ Coco’s Wimbledon journey proved that your age doesn’t determine how great you are, your ability and mentality does. She was only 15 & made history by being the youngest to compete in Wimbledon, as well as beat a former world champion in the process. ⠀ The market doesn’t care about how old you are, all it cares about is how good you are. Improve everyday and
[ad] @abercrombie denim is iconic and the Skinny fit from the Signature Stretch Denim are my season favourites! 🤪☺️ It has the comfort, stretch and feeling of a pair of joggers, but with the stylish and versatile look of a pair of jeans - plus, all styles are under $100! 👌🏿 #dolifeaf#abercrombiepartner
🧙🏻♂️- it’s Monday, June 21 1976, and this is the moment that Preston Resnick has just lost the final match of the Wimbledon tennis championship.. that’s definitely not where he wanted the ball to go. And with that failed swoop, it’s all over. And his opponent Björn Brog couldn’t be more pleased.. -🦏 . . . . #tennis#diggingforapples
